Heim BBQ. It's good, at least their 2 locations over in Ft Worth are. Been going for a couple years. Pecan Lodge may edge them out on brisket(it's close) but worth going to sample the Bacon Burnt Ends especially if you're at the DTree.

Like Hard 8 too, it's on my itinerary for Sunday when I hit town, Heim later in the week. Maybe Pecan too if I have time but it's a trek from Ft Worth area where I'll be staying.

Yeah. I'll take first available. Pushing 50 and all of the sudden realizing the end is closer than the beginning. (How many pilots are actually able to make it to 65 vs losing a medical?) I'm sure I'll whine about commuting and weekend reserve, but I hope it's not another 5 years.

Hit em with that retiree ID and get half off!

Your expereince as a 2015 hire is going to be different than a 2010 AT hire. Your on the front end of the wave instead of being on the back of a bubble.

Just look at your (and my) expereince so far...I bet we had new hires every month you've been here right up until we stopped running classes this year. I've been just as fortunate...no commuting for months to OAK for us.

Like someone else said...majority of those bypassing are AT guys or those hired in the 2007-2010 range. Post 2010 there’s not many hires on the list until 2015. 800 people on the list from Jan 2011 to Jan 2015. If we’re doing 500/yr we’ll chew through that fairly quickly. Only unknown is how many will take 1st avail or hold out for their base of choice/schedule.

The good news is that relative to the last five years the retirements start to pick up a bit more, couple that with some growth and it could be way faster than expected.

Do they? Or did most of those retirements in the next five years take VSP and are gone already?

Yeah you are probably right, but I still think around 200 a year though.

Hard 8 is phenomenal, but you'll truly understand the meaning of the "meat sweats" by the time you're done.

My main drivers are that I wanted to hit 415c limits ASAP and make enough to qualify for max LTD payout should the unthinkable happens. I'm happy that I've been able to max out my retirement every single year on the property to the point that even the year I got off probation, I ended up getting a few grand as excess from Profit Sharing. The last PS payout was almost all in cash.

It's also somewhat, in a paranoid way, reassuring that if I were to go out on medical, my LOL/LTD payout would be our plan max.

I also say I'll take the first available, but then I look at some of our players' boards and I can see why they don't want to upgrade even in base, much less commute to the West Coast. They control their schedule, types of trips they want, when they want to work and how much. Add up the totals, and I can totally see why being the plug or very junior captain commuting to the west coast just doesn't seem appealing...

I don't know... I could see the compromise of taking the plug upgrade in base, but to add commuting to it?
