If that were the case they would’ve canceled the BOD meeting instead of moving it to Tues.

it’s the worst kept secret that this thing has been done for two weeks. Implementation aka “tech touches” and grievance settlement were always going to be contentious.

I'm betting you did NOT mean that Captain pay could be Delta 737 + $1 but it could be misconstrued that way.

In order to truly match career earnings we probably need a blend of significantly higher pay rates and retirement contributions.

.
Not sure you can ever compete as long as they’re offering CA spots to new hires. We can match or exceed NEC and beat pay rates but CA pay will always > FO pay and shorter upgrade times skew the numbers. Hard to figure career earnings anyway as you’ve got 5-7k FO’s bypassing and NOT taking first available either for WB or QOL reasons. Our pay does need to be higher than 737/320 pay though….more than $1. I’d prefer 757 pay or better across the board, but we’ll have to see what was negotiated.

Super excited to see SWAPA still using the 'squeezing the baloon" theory.

Company: "We gave the FO's 757 pay so we only have enough to give the CA's 737+1 pay."
SWAPA: "Sounds great to us!"

TSMITR is so happy to be vindicated

blaming SWAPA for that is pretty dumb.

In fact, when something is so obviously causing attrition and the company changes it on their own...... ZERO negotiating capital gets spent.

SWAPA has made some mistakes, but that ain't one of em.

I agree with your 757 statement.

As to the rest, we have to set a high bar if we want to attract quality newhires. OALs offering higher pay and quick upgrades IS EXACTLY why SWA needs to boost compensation across the board. That is the landscape they are competing in.

Not "blaming" them" just thinking they could have said "sounds like you are ok with half of the group getting 757 pay so we'll sign when the entire group is on 757 pay"

Agreed 100%. Valid arguments could be made for either. Time will tell.

Yeah but none of the other LCC’s seem that worried about it. In the grand scheme of things, losing 130 new hires in a year when you hire 1800 isn’t something to panic about. Let me work less and earn more and I’m happy.
