True, but its a panacea if you are in the top 25% since you get to skim all the best trips out of the system and customize your monthly flying to whatever you want. Line bidding is better for bottom half of lineholders. PBS is better for top half of lineholders.

The problem you guys will face is with PBS. It’s very simple, company will set a credit window, let’s say 78-88 hours per month. You will not be able to bid above the pre-set credit. As far as previous month going into the new month, the previous month credit will be subtracted from the pre-set credit (88 hrs). So when you bid PBS system will see credit from the previous month and will NOT let you bid any conflict (117 or contractual). Picking trips up? Highly doubtful as PBS will build you the most efficient line poissible. PBS is a “company optimizer”.
Ex: AA PBS (MIA 737) window was set to 72-86 hours, with average schedule of 79..

Looking at this contract so far, what happened to NO PBS, RETRO pay, Industry leading rates, I see none of that. And yet everyone is excited for this. Once you let the Genie out of the bottle with PBS, there's no going back. The company will cap everyone's credit limit to less than 90 hours per month as done at any other Airline with PBS. As far as no retro, I can't believe everyone would cave in on this while Management gives themselves hefty raise and stock options. All the rhetoric from ALPA about Industry Leading Contract, No PBS, etc and here we are. I would be embarrassed if I were the NC showing up at the roads shows trying to sell this Turd!

PBS will use 117.23 to figure out min and max block/credit for the month. It will also know your exact flight time to personally limit your ability to bid, pick up, and swap trips. Ex: If you’re reaching 1,000 hrs/365 limit it will simply not let you bid high time lines and keep you legal.
You can base your pay on around 80-85 hour month.

117 has nothing to do with credit.
How many people are getting stuff dropped for 117 block limits in a month or a year now? I’d bet it’s a single digit percentage.
