At this point a dozen WB will be the cheap part. 330neos are about 90 million. You don't spend that much money to go 70% of the way and quit. Especially with the NYPA invested. They will want assurances their money isn't wasted.
Um 330neos are just shy of $300 million each, so a dozen costs about the same as the offer to buy Spirit.

So that’s 12-13 billion of debt on the balance sheet and they haven’t even painted/equipped NK planes, reworked the route structure, hired to staff widebodies, negotiated pay scales, etc.

Meanwhile, you can probably make a pretty decent return on investment leasing out prime gate space. I’m not saying it will never or could never happen, but your logic has some expensive holes in it.

Airlines don’t pay anywhere near list price for planes. While actual prices paid are rarely, if ever, made public, there are some benchmark numbers out there. Here is one example: https://www.ishkaglobal.com/News/Art...ntinue-to-drop

$90m is probably about right for a 330neo

Speaking with ALPA scheduling guys, ACY has survived because it’s the most efficient/cost effective base we have. Guess it’s due to the pairings there.

Thanks for saying we bring something to the table when you mentioned the South and Mid West. Seems like some of your coworkers think we bring nothing and are lucky to tag along with the acquisition. Especially since it’s been insinuated that many of us couldn’t get hired at B6. The post are out there. It won’t take much effort to find them. Both companies and both pilot groups can learn a great deal from each other if they are willing. At the end of the day it’s about profits. NK’s done a pretty good job at that. Ben Baldanza did a outstanding job of setting the foundation. I’d be super excited if he stepped down from the board and replaced your CEO.

There are always a few bad apples in every bunch. Not unlike social medial where the minority always seem to be the loudest. Most of the JB guys I talk to are actually excited about the merger and the possibilities a combined airline would mean in terms of competing with the Big 4 as well as future expansion across the pond.

I'm going to drop some TLDR in here as I've had a busy few days, but I'm just curious...did y'all finally get an SLI hammered out for us on here?

It looks like quite few man hours have gone into hashing it out on APC

I'm on here pretty vocally, and not in favor of a merger. When it's all done, I will accept the results. None of us have any influence directly, and whatever we post here is just that. A post on a website. Whatever happens, after the merger I won't be a bigger a$$ than before.
