I think most here would be very surprised by the current turnover rate.

Again, it’s leverage but not the kind we need.

Oh really? Please share with us specific numbers since you seem to know so much. It’s not like it’s sensitive information.

Be specific. Where is the attrition going? Are they going to Delta or AA? Have the numbers increased in the last 3 months? How does attrition compare to historical norms? How does it compare to industry norms?

UA Int'l reserves get 6 unmovable HDOs and 6 or 7 moveable RDOs?

Do you think this person actually wants us to get an industry leading contract, or do they come here to “rub it in”? He mentioned he is at DAL, and his posts read as if he is superior to you and your fellow UAL pilots. Is that someone you want to engage with? If he was smart, he should pray we get the best contract in aviation history. That way, DAL would have to follow and make even better improvements.

This is pattern bargaining and it’s why ALPA national can be so powerful. But instead, someone like that hopes we make no progress and feel inferior to other pilots.

Lmfao!! Actually I hope you blow our contract away idk wth you’re smoking tonight.

You have worse QOL rules than DAL, AA, SWA and and most ULCC’s. Your management is dragging their feet over a few small improvements and people like you hate hearing me trash SK because you subconsciously defend him routinely.

Lay off that grass “pipe”man.

Actually, every single pilot at DL is in the former category, with not a single pilot the latter. In addition, we are all hoping AA's strong strike vote gets their negotiations over the finish line and leaves our contract in the dust. Then UA will have the leverage to finally get your management to get serious. We wish you nothing but the best of luck.

Agree, but DAL and JBU will make that push, too. Their mantra has been lower dues no matter what the cost or which airlines get harmed in the process. Guarantee the first local meeting at one of those two carriers after the ALPA Exec Board meets this month to approve it will have a dues reduction on the agenda.

As a Delta guy I can tell you that I think UAL is on the rise. I know you guys don’t like SK but he is a smart man and operationally oriented. Yes he is not willing to sell the farm to get a contract done but he is improving United every day. Without seeing your ask it’s hard to really know if he is overplaying his hand. As I posted before you can probably get a contract with block hour costs 2% over Delta in two weeks. If you want 5% over however it’s going to be a long haul. SK is going to take UAL places and has a plan and he can execute. Delta on an operational level is almost rudderless and taking on water. Our CEO is very good with social issues and politics. Running the railroad is not however a priority. You have a far better CEO going forward.

Actually, “most” would be surprised if you had a clue about flight ops turnover. Your post history doesn’t make a strong case for your appeal to authority type argument.

it’s apparent that this is your first negotiation cycle, you’ve been at UAL for about 18 months? Please, regale us with your expertise.

I think anyone with a clear mind knows your pilot group will have the most difficult road ahead with gaining anything in QOL because of your CEO who believes words are worth more than actions.

Your management wants nothing more than to keep your reserve rules worse than most regionals. To be honest your global reserve is essentially slave labor as you’re essentially on duty the entire month except for 2 days. Your commuter policy sucks too.

The guy who left after 4 years probably read our contract at DAL, then read the NC emails and realized your pilot group is making little progress fighting for QOL gains we had in our previous contract at DAL.
What about that is bad? Under your old PWA, United was better than DL. Not sure what it is today.

The rest is overblown. The potential QoL gains are big on reserve, lineholder rules at UAL were better than the old PWA, so those will be minor.
