New hire on the shuttle back to the Sheraton said SK came into their class the other day (he was at DENTK for the opening of the new sim building) and told that class that basically the 737 Max 10s are being cancelled and looking at a “significant” order for 321s. Take that for what it’s worth.

So what are they going to do with all these new hire captains. Say, just kidding you’re going to A320 captain? They are training all of these new people on the 737 for future growth. I mean there are over 800 IAH737FOs. I think it will only be a modest increase in Airbus orders or honestly some sort of deal to move up the timeline on the current order book.

ASAP - enough 321NEOs configured with lie flats to do LAX/SFO to EWR PS type service. I don't think we were supposed to start getting lie flats until the 321xlrs started showing up. The Max-10 was supposed to do this service despite being smaller than a 321, probably because we thought we would be getting them sooner than the 321s. But 321s are much better suited for PS anyways. I imagine Max-10s will show up eventually, but 100% domestic FC configured seems likely instead.

Even if we get additional discount on MAX-10, that discount on a non certified, non flying airplane is still $0 (so really depends how long we're willing to keep giving Boeing yet another extension).

Wouldn't be surprised if MAX-10 dies altogether. Certification issues and IF we cancel the 10 and go with 8/9 mix it may as well not be worth it to Boeing to continue.
