If you’re willing to snub an order of 100 wide bodies (SK words not mine) over something that stupid and trivial your priorities are screwed up. I’m not talking about a TI style fire sale of leverage the way he gave everything away for 6 years… but if you want something in return, it would be an all new fleet of modern wide bodies and the pay/QOL that comes with them.
Don't put words in my mouth. I never said we shouldn't get those aircraft. What I said was our UPA has protections that the DAL PWA does not and we shouldn't just give away relief for nothing. Also the 2014-2015 period when the CROC first objected to the crew rest facility was under Chairman Jay Heppner, not Chairman Todd Insler. Plus the video of two management pilots visiting the factory with the ALPA reps trying and struggling to get in and out of the bunk allegedly saying, "Oh, this is not going to work for our pilots" might play a factor as well.

Maybe some modifications have been made that has satisfied the parties involved. Other airlines are successfully flying the A350 many with much better crew reset facilities than what has been offered to DAL and UAL. I definitely want to see us take more WB aircraft. But after all the chest pounding in the last couple years about enforcing the contract, I'm not willing to just waive anything for expedience sake.

Take a look for yourself on YouTube. I didn’t notice any corners cut out. The facility looked the same as a 787, and significantly better that the 777 bunks. The 777-322 has an extra seat, but I’d trade that for a side stick and sushi tray.

There is no time limitation for engine anti-ice on the 320 series with the LEAP engines. It made me wonder when I heard Boeing was wanting to put a time limit on using engine anti-ice, how would you do that on climb and decent? Ground operations in icing conditions?

Cycle it on and off I suppose. But even so, it's a human factors disaster waiting to happen. Ninth stage bleed air is what? 540 C? A lot of composites start to delaminate pretty quickly at those sorts of temperatures...

the time limit only applies to flight not actually in icing conditions. If you are in icing conditions you can leave the anti-ice on as long as needed. Also, the issue is the Boeing composite engine inlet cowl, not the actual engine.

if the court ruled that JetBlue couldn't buy Spirit and combine to make the fifth biggest domestic airline because that would be anticompetitive why would you think they wood allow Unitedtobuy Spirit and become far bigger?

true but what COULD happen is if spirits financial outlook dims, UAL could grab Airbus aircraft from spirits order book.
