News reports were that Airbus was working quickly to buy back delivery slots for A-321s for United. The only reason they would do this is if United placed an Airbus WB order with fairly quick deliveries. Especially since Kirby said United has identified over 100 new International routes it wants to fly but that we don't have the planes for. With the slowdown in the 787 deliveries plus now the Max 9/10 issues, I bet Airbus is looking like a much better alternative, even at a higher cost.

From my understanding, the issue hasn’t been solved at the factory, but I could be wrong. UA’s NEOs aren’t affected yet, but might be in the future? I really hope not tho.

It’s literally exactly why they built it, and your grievances are exactly why it isn’t selling in comparison. They went all in on the 380 when Boeing went the 787 route… when the 380 didn’t pan out they realized they didn’t have an offering to compare and the 330neo was the quickest option to try and catch up.

Theres a chance it’ll get sorted before delivery, but Pratt (and their suppliers) is so backed up with current customers that idk if that’ll be a possibility.
You realize there is another engine available that isn't grounded?

None of United’s NEO’s will be affected by the recall. The problem was fixed a while ago and no new engines have the problem. It only exists with the early deliveries.

the P&W NEO engine issues have been corrected only early build NEOs are affected. The only thing that is affecting United now is LACK of engines.

Except the 320 neo is still an old airframe with new motors. The wing is actually older then the ng wing. Part of the problem why ceiling is only 39000.

except the cockpit is glorious in comparison lol.

For every person here bashing the dated 320 and 330 NEO underpinnings there are 2 people ready to name their firstborn Boeing if that company resurrects the 757 in all its original splendor.

Mind you I'd fly it. Would be glorious like a 63 Vette.
