It wouldn't be crazy to think Airbus is definitely motivated to keep their foot as far into the door at United as they can. While United's 321 deliveries seem small compared the 737 deliveries, the A321 deliveries alone are larger than most other airlines in the world.
You're assuming Spirit's slots are assignable by Spirit. They might not be.

Yes
Unlike DALALPA and their PWA, there is also that section of the UPA which says UAL ALPA has to agree to it. As far as I'm aware, going all the way back to 2014-2015 time frame, we have not based on information from the Crew Rest Oversight Committee (CROC). I certainly hope we wouldn't be advocating waiving a section of our UPA...without something big in return for the pilots.

If you’re willing to snub an order of 100 wide bodies (SK words not mine) over something that stupid and trivial your priorities are screwed up. I’m not talking about a TI style fire sale of leverage the way he gave everything away for 6 years… but if you want something in return, it would be an all new fleet of modern wide bodies and the pay/QOL that comes with them.

This may be the most ridiculous thing I’ve seen. You’re trying to tell me that a descent rate down to 10k from 40k is a limiting factor? What do those things last, 15 minutes? Not a memory item so I really don’t care. Regardless, you put that thing down at 320Kias in an idle descent and boards out it’ll be a, at most, 20 second difference between 41k and 39k.

It’s literally a corner cut off the mattress by a few inches for aesthetics to conform to stairs leading up to the bunk, and it’s only one of them. Unless you’re 6’8”, and you rest your feet on the corners while you sleep, you’ll never even know. Technically the mattress width and height are well within guidance.

The issue not a WB order it’s that in series of events we (the pilots of United) might find ourselves with an item in the contract that the company needs relief. Don’t just give the relief away! Maybe we increase the hourly rate a few percentage points. Maybe we get 3% pay raise after the amendable date until a new contract is signed. If Airbus makes the 350 a requirement to get competitive prices on close in 321 deliveries and we can get something for change in our contract then that is truely a win! I believe this is what most people are talking about. Take leverage when you happen upon it and secure something for long term.
