If you see anything that looks even a little unsafe, write it up. Don't accept the aircraft until you're satisfied the problem has been addressed.

This caused pilots to carry discrepancies, creating a 'git-r-done' culture. Pay for training, which was woefully inadequate, an environment of intimidation, threats of termination, the list is endless and reminiscent of what pilots see today at Allegiant. It's no surprise that there is such resistance to organized labor there, management likes their "flexibility". Same leader, same formula, same story. The leadership's refusal to acknowledge responsibility, the financial rewards of reckless abandon, and the amnesia of the FAA all combine to explain why the same story repeats itself. Best of luck there guys, tough battle ahead. Things won't change until the one common denominator changes: it's leader.
Out of sensitivity to those manning this operation everyday I won't dare speak of ValuJet happening! But I will put it like this: If the worse does happen, and the professional crew holds it all together, saving every soul on board - I hope the courts subpoena this entire thread and use it as aggravating evidence to hold the greedily willfully negligent individuals responsible to the fullest extent possible.

If pilots, ship captains, railroad engineers and every other swinging Joe for that matter can be held criminally responsible for negligence, then why not leadership when their decisions put profit over safety with catastrophic consequences?

Looks like G4 doesn't know how to staff their unique non-standard airline. I guess that "home every night" concept is shrinking, and with the new bases opening up, I'm sure the 10% number will increase soon.
The TDY information is somewhat misleading... The company recently changed the rules pertaining to the VBD base and have subsequently rolled both TDY and VBD assignments into one bid. ~35 of the 55 are regular VBD folks so in reality about 20 of 550 are being TDY'd.

Depends on the regional and/or your personal circumstances. If you live in base for one of the less abusive carriers and/or are satisfied with the quality of life at present. Some regionals can offer both; no commuting, desirable location. If that’s ones circumstances, no need to come to g4. Prospects for a legacy, if that’s the goal are almost identical now; g4 vs’. regional. If g4 is on your list, why not bypass and go to a national that already has a contract.

G4 management takes anti-pilot, anti-union to a whole new level. Combined with a judicial system and laws that are written by dirt bags like him, you have a toxic mix of circumstances and willing participants that leave our pilots with a massive almost impossible task. Our company is small and thus has absorbed his anti pilot/union zeal. Thus from top to bottom they speak his language like mindless radicals; ‘We’re Different’, ‘Not in our DNA’. Walking through the halls and listening to our fellow corporate types in Vegas, reminds me of what Jonestown would have been.

Which regionals are you applying at? With the pay and quality of life about the same as you say, and everyday being a miracle just to survive. Or do you really believe what you post? You could hang out there till Delta or United call.

Lots of mission modes out today, one was +12 hours above guarantee. I hope there weren't any takers.

I'm not sure why anyone takes any open time trips. Today's open time is tomorrow's mission mode.
