So apparently it is your opinion that arbitration would lead to unhappy pilots rather than unhappy management. The pilots would certainly less unhappy than what Parker is willing to give. Talk about sad- how sad is it that we are here again. Name just one time - just once, that Parker gave the pilots a dime that he wasn't forced to give. In fact, I remember him spending money to fight pilots rather than negotiate.
From the APA board the pilots seem to think they can bring Parker to heel. I've never seen a pilot group do that and I saw a very aggressive action when a small group of east pilots tried to.
There is a cost to unhappy employees. I'm just not sure Parker can see it, because it's hard to quantify. Things like poor complaint stats can be reasoned away.
One problem we've always had is that some guys go out and do something really stupid and get fired. That tends to get everyone in line. Guys, don't be stupid this time. Don't go on C&R and brag about what you're going to do.

"He who has the gold makes the rules".
Gold is gold. You can shape it, but its still gold.
Pilots are everywhere. They don't look alike, they don't ACT alike, their MOTIVATION for things are generally NOT in the best interests of the GROUP.
You really don't need to their combination to overcome the pilots. They only have themselves to blame.

Not many posters here have a consistent track record of successively more ridiculous posts. Congrats on your success !

Let me see if I can translate some route66 for you, with out stealing his thunder.
Pilots are their own worst enemies. We tend to over estimate our career and value while underestimating and undercutting our fellow pilots. We look out after ourselves, so when we are in an association, we don't do well.
The AA pilots signed on to this MOU. They agreed to the cost neutral arbitration. Now they are shocked at Paker/Kirby/Glass? Why? They have shown over and over how they operate. Did the APA even talk to any east or west US pilots? It seemed to me that the attitude was "You guys are so screwed up, we've got this."

No need for a job action that violates the law...Absolutely no need. With all of the acrimony their decision will invoke, the operation will fall apart on its own...nothing will be able to be proven. And that will not bode well for them.
There is nothing worse than an employee that does the bare minimum - especially in the airline industry. I hope they know that.
Like I said, this is a whole new ball game for them and I think they are severely underestimating the resolve of this pilot group.
They had a chance to lead, a la Delta, and blew it. I don't care how much of an "expert" Jerry Glass is - he doesn't know this group and has not dealt with them.
They wanted arbitration, now they're gonna get it...and probably cry about it when it doesn't pan out the way they expected it to.
