Except you're assuming a few things. 1: My current job is still here, and that it is better than going to Omni.
2. My qualifications make me competitive for everywhere else.
3. Someone other than Omni has called me to interview.

While it's discouraging that the negotiations are a struggle, my current employment is actually not a viable option. I'll need new employment soon. Soon, in this instance, is preferably before January, 2018.
Many carriers are hiring in several distinct sectors of aviation, and I have applications in to 8 of them. All of which I feel competitive with (given my experience and employment background, among other factors).
Omni is one of 2 to call me for an interview. The other company to call is much, much worse than Omni and would be a step backwards (career wise).

In short, my current employer is not scheduling me time off. I've had 18 scheduled days off since June of 2017. I don't work every day, but I'm on call. QOL is almost 0.
My current employer will not give me a second raise or any bonus.
My current employer is not acquiring any new equipment or hiring anyone to help with staffing.
My current employer has eliminated health insurance options and now I pay my own way.

That's a good picture of where I work now, but not extensive or all inclusive. Until some of the top dogs call, this is my best shot at something better. Believe it or not, pay will be close to what I'm making now (excluding per diem at Omni).

If what I have heard is true, then again the company will continue to get to pay and treat us like garbage for the foreseeable future. With all the check airman that they recently hired due to hiring needs, all I can say is “Good Luck” with all that hiring that is needed. I can’t see how they will attract anyone from here on out with “status quo” around here.

The flying is busy right now, and Omni is doing it’s normal thing by holding pilots out in to their days off to fulfill the staffing issues. They have adjusted to the exodus from the summer and unless another happens, they will continue to do what they are doing. Even certain people in the travel dept are back to being a=holes. I am not saying don’t come here, but look long and hard before considering it, especially with all the better opportunities out there.

All of the people who have held on because of the glimmer of hope a couple months ago are probably wishing they took the plunge and got the heck out. Time to get the resumes out again.....

Could not agree more. Great advice to those considering coming here. As for the rest of us that have been here a while, time to pack and hit the road.. this ride is not going to end well

Default Omni

Travel department drives pilots right into the ground and steps on them. They will fly you half way around the world to save a few dollars. I have over flown my international destination onto a distant hub, only to sit for hours and fly back to my destination. At my departure point a direct non-stop flight to my destination in the gate next door. Can't get on that flight because it costs more. Training is good, give them credit for that. You don't fly much, one, maybe two take off/landings per month. Some trips you are the paper *****, not fun. Low pay, few flight hours per year. Not a career airline. If you go to Omni, go with your eyes open. They will get their pound of flesh from you. But leave fast, keep those resumes up to date. You are just filling more blanks in a resume at Omni.

What a difference six months can make.
The negotiating committee went above and beyond.
Looks like those of us who held on in hope have something to look forward to.

Default Question

I don’t know much about Omni so forgive me if these questions have already been asked... how are the schedules? Is it like atlas where you are on for 16-18 days straight? Are you home based? Is Vegas the only options? Those of you who are current f/os, how do like Omni? And what’s the average upgrade time? Thanks in advanced to anyone who can share some info!

Yes it is generally 16-18 days straight.
Yes we are home based.
Vegas is one of the only scheduled operations which you can bid for. Reasonable amount of known flying each month with the rest a mystery tour.
As an FO I like it here. Great crews and good times on the road.
Upgrade is running at 2.5 to 3 years.

Is there any advantage to living in or near Tulsa while working for or trying to get hired at Omni?
