Could it be the dirty little secret that they crashed their computer system and lost almost all of the poolie data from most of last year?
Wouldn't be the first company to do that.
Then again, maybe not....

Wow, did that actually happen? If so, then that would definitely explain it.

Clarifications....
..................
No planes have been parked
No pilots have been furloughed
A management team that mostly works with us, not against us
No plans to furlough are even being discussed.
A new to us 767 was recently put into service at Omni
Another new to us 767 is on its way this year
In the past two years the 767 fleet will have increased by 33% (Two-thirds of that this year during the pandemic)
New Hire classes slowed but never stopped
New hire classes are continuing to run right now
A new to us training center has recently opened
We continue to interview and hire
The window opened last week for 4 hours. 1200 applications flooded the system.

Let’s make sure we are not sharing misleading information and create false hopes for people in the hiring pool or potential future candidates.
- There are currently dozens of highly qualified pilots in the hiring pool waiting for a date of training.
- With a typical new class consisting of 8 trainees, one can calculate for him/herself how long it takes to deplete the current pool.
- A big part of those candidates was interviewed last year.
- There is no “seniority” in the pool, meaning the date of the interview has little or no relevance.
- There were no interviews since spring and there will most likely be no interviews again this year
- There will most likely be no new class starting training this year. Spring 2021 might be more realistic.
Omni is a fantastic company with great long-term outlook.

It’s still kind of hard to calculate your potential class date if there is no seniority as to how individuals are picked for classes as well as not really knowing the exact number of pilots in the pool even if the typical number of trainees per class is 8-10. From what you’re saying, it seems that trainees are randomly drawn from the pool. When I interviewed the ACP said they were only going to hire 30-40. I was told by a friend at Omni that classes are being ran every month, and so far that’s been accurate except for the month of September. Of course that is subject to change but a lot of different info from different people is what I’m noticing. As far as Oct and Nov., who knows. but But of course, I hope they continue to run classes consistently.

Not the best of news, but hopefully they will find a way to get all of us poolies on property as soon as possible.
