If the duty beyond 168 hours was DH, that would be legal. If the trip ended with a FDP, that sounds like a Delta 117 issue similar the automatic FDP extension that they were doing when I started.

Pilots have to have 30 hours of prospective rest before a RAP or FDP.

Aren’t max LC days 17 though? How did he SCC on more days than he had LC?

Thanks!

That's a possible reason. At least in my experience, though, if I got a SC all the time with 4 days of availability then I'd get used more often than not, and wouldn't end up getting more than 6 SCs most months.

I actually wonder if the trend from open-time 4-day bucket SC's to 2-day bucket SC's was to prevent people from rolling their LC days (move X days) to keep themselves in the 4 day bucket and continuosly YS SC open time. By the 2-day bucket, it's past the 72-hour window to move X-days to stretch your LC days out (can't keep yourself in the 2-day bucket to keep YS'ing SC's.)
I don't get the strategy because you are continuously making yourself more available for a longer duration. An hour of SC credit IF unused doesn't seem worth it to me. I know... we all have variances to our game and the variety here is amazing. Glad to have all the choices. (except the choice to commute so my airline is infantly smaller than yall's)

I was wondering the same thing. When I occasionally sit RSV I'll sometimes check to see if the additional days of RSV are being offered and I've never seen even one day, so doing multiple extra days in one month seems unlikely, but maybe some fleets are different.

While technically true, I think the greater point is that somewhere between 2 and 10 of those SC’s are superfluous. They could very, very likely accomplish the exact same thing with (literally) half the people on SC.

As a local, I don’t mind it one bit, but it genuine sucks for commuters.

It seems to work best in a WB category, especially if you can snag SC windows that don’t line up with the majority of departures. Plus once you get over 6 they pay 3 hours each even if used.

It's possible they want to disincentivize commuting on reserve. Even if this isn't the intended effect, I have heard from quite a few junior A commuters that they are reconsidering moving to base if they're to expect this SCpalooza to linger.

I don’t disagree one bit. It’s BS if you ask me.

But the fact remains that if the company thinks it will save them money, they’d gladly put every reserve pilot on short call

Default YS before 1000 on 1st LC day

Is a RES eligible to be awarded a YS (rotation or SC) before 1000 on his 1st LC day after a No-Fly day if requested?

TIA
