The real question is, could you have called in sick? I mean, if you were injured or dead were you really sick? And would you have to verify the sickness? Or could the captain who hit you have verified it?

Insurance may not cover it if you had a prior history of being hit by cars.

Hi, and welcome to last month's news, Shy.

They are sure paying for it in the ATL320 category. A sizable portion of the captains will be well north of 300,000 this year. I've already made more this year in 6 months than my entire last 12 months as an RJ captain.

Ya'll junior Delta pilots need to stop green slippin' everywhere so hiring can begin sooner.

let me puy on my hate on commuting commuters hat and answer this...

first of all, don't call in sick unless youre sick. are you sick if you get hit by a car? no. you're injured, which is not the same as being sick.

don't be a thief.

The Roberts Rule created a great deal of animosity at NWA. I suggest we avoid a repeat.
Not to mention throw down fist fight in the chief pilots office at late as 1999! When I got hired I was told the quickest way to start a fight was to walk into the lounge at the training hotel, and yell "Red Book Green Book". It would be bad for a very long time to go back to that play book.

Do the BART employees fall under the RLA? If so how is it they can seemingly strike so easily? Glad I don't work in the Bay Area today.

If Check Essential decided to say "LEE MOAK SUCKS!" You'd get a "**** YOU!!!"

/just an observation
I think even the ALPA guys would willingly admit that there is intense personal loyalty to Moak among most of the old guard who still control the Delta MEC.

I think that hurts us in several ways:
The constructive engagement has gotten out of hand.
Moak favors outsourcing and they can't bring themselves to oppose him on that.
And related to that is the whole thing with more than one pilot group making contracts with Delta Air Lines. Moak didn't even see the need for a simple courtesy call to our MEC before he did that because he knew they would just go along with whatever he decided. Now only Bucking Bar seems to be concerned about that situation but it could end up being a very big deal in the future.
Moak made that decision all on his own and Bill Roberts and the rest of the permanent bureaucracy up there in Herndon have constructed the legal framework and justification for it but I think it is a huge mistake. That decision by Moak could be just as catastrophic as the original ALPA decision to allow outsourcing in the first place.
