How on earth could Delta [or any airline...] discover you had a speeding/moving violation ticket 20-35yrs ago when it was never on a DMV record to begin with [assuming traffic school]? Is a lie detector test part of the interview?
And yes, I would assume NO tickets over 35yrs would be a bit preposterous for most of us. Although I do know a few people who have zero.

Some people lie without thinking twice about it, others have a moral compass and don't.

I would be careful on thinking the 717 is coming to LA soon unless you have some inside info. Publicly the company is not planning a west coast base and they have put out on multiple occasions that the next base will be NYC. With the gate limits there I see them focusing on larger aircraft there.

The less you give them on your terms, they more they will find on their terms anyway. And they will find things on their terms. They are exceptionally good at that.

Thanks for the suggestions...my main goal is to get hired after my interview...THEN to hold a line out of LAX (sooner or later), regardless of type/size. Being gone commuting and doing the crash pad thing is something I am trying to avoid, while staying in SOCAL (for family reasons). I understand that it's a bit of my having my cake and eating it too....but I'm just stating my goal!
Your suggestion would probably be the easiest route (because of no future training) but everyone should realize if a 717 category is opened in either LAX or SEA, any one can bid it on the opening bid because all freezes are off for a new or re-established category.

Of course a lie detector test isn't part of the interview, but a complete background check is. Delta doesn't expect perfection, but they do expect honesty. Regardless of whether or not a moving violation is on a record, if they ask I'd tell them. You want to risk this job for a speeding ticket you don't report? Seems short sighted.
I have a moral compass, my question was merely to ask if there was some possible way to learn every single ticket (meaning a couple I forgot). Had more than a few in my teens & early 20's.
And as gloopy alluded; "And they will find things on their terms. They are exceptionally good at that". Seems that would entail hacking into the main computer or police accessible database which does list every infraction a driver receives...
