On second thought...initially it is in the right direction for newbies! But still doesn't solve the issues long term in my opinion.

Wychor told our class that we can't have the "haves" and the "haves not's" in a pilot group. Yet here we are... a pilot group of SSP'ers, EtD'ers, those with no program, and DGI'ers. To add to the mix, now we'll have new hires that will earn more than those on 2nd year pay and then be subject to a sophomore year pay cut themselves after their first anniversary.

9E has selected the iPad (Air 2 or 9.7" pro) as the end state device. New authorization has been signed today.

Testers using the Microsoft Surface are having their access pulled today and iPad users are allowed to continue to use theirs. No mention of company provided iPads or stipend.
Is that the iPad Air 2 or the pro; or is it that you get to choose which one you desire?

Anyone who thinks this isn't good for those already on property is mistaken in my opinion. New hires = good for everybody and with us in pay negotiations now this is more leverage for higher pay rates for the rest of us.

Of course, no sane person would deny that. I've said for a while now that it was dumb of the union to negotiate LOA 71 in a way that didn't include a "me too" clause that required any increase in the new hire bonus to be matched in retention bonus payments.

The question is, is this 10k on top of the retention bonus or just more upfront money. Previous classes got 3k after OE then 20k over the rest of the year, totaling the 23k. Are they just fronting the 10k and the divvying out the remaining 13k over the course of their first year. Either way, if it gets more new hires into classes, it's good for everyone.

The air 2 and pro 9.7" are the same size. Ergo they use the same mounting hardware. The pro is just a little newer than the air 2 so there is that. It looks like we are getting the choice of which one we want. No word on what type (cellular or wifi only) or what the compensation is for them.

It's a $10k training bonus. No idea how they are working it into the retention bonus. I imagine it's the same you just earn $7k more your first year than the previous classes did.

Also heard rumors of the E170/175 joining the fleet as soon as the -200 starts to go away.

This is not a bad thing.

Remember at the AA WO's only the FOs really catch the windfall of their bonuses.

The bottom line is no airline offers the compensation that Endeavor does....right now.
