Some weeks might have 2 days off, some have 3 days off (average trips), some weeks have 4+ days off between work. Some months you end up with 6-10+ days off between two months transitioning, some months you might get 1 day off. Depends on what you bid, what you want, and seniority. Every line is different.

You can't have 14-15 days off 4day trip line with only 2 days off EVERY week. Obviously you get more days off than that. Look at a calendar and do the math with 15 days off in a month between 4 day trips.

You might have (4) 4days a month. Or (3) 4 days and a (1) 3 day or whatever. It varies.

A quick flip through the pack (ORD) is a mix of 3 and 2 day offs between trips. Even the 3 day trip lines have a lot of 2 day offs between. A few lines have a stretch of 4+ days off. There's a bunch of CDO and a few 2 day back to backs.

I see 68-78 hour credits, but the vast majority come in around 72-74 hours.

Just at a glance, that's a lot of busy work for less days off than last month and the same low line credits we've been dealing with for a long time now. I've been a captain here for a while, and I recall flying with captains a decade ago that were clearing $100k+ every year. They told me how great the pay would be when I got that left seat.

With these lousy lines, fewer days off and a commute thanks to all but two bases closing I've never reached anywhere near their earning capacity. Those days were the good old days and we didn't know it.

That's what's happening in the left seat. If you come here, live in base if you can. It'll make things a lot better as far as ability to fly a schedule and pick up OT.

Go to Skywest. Just got screwed out of 10k since they won't pay FOs currently in training the extra 10k difference from the new sign bonus. Unbelievable.

That is kind of how a "NEWHIRE" bonus works. Our current FO's didn't get the $10K you got. If it means that much to you, go to PSA or even better Endeavor.

I don't personally agree with the newhire only bonus structure. I think that Endeavor's Bonus structure demonstrates a more well rounded approach to attraction and retention but even it falls short. If the regional airlines paid an appropriate compensation to their pilots from the start, they wouldn't all need to fight over a minimal pilot supply. There would be plenty of young men and women seeking a pilot career. All current incentive programs are still trying to avoid the basic economic principle at play here. Supply and Demand.

I'm sorry that you are missing out on the additional bonus money but you will find many aspects of this career are not "fair and just". That goes for life in general actually.

Really??? You know, in this industry, 90% of it is about timing. The other 10% is dumb luck.

Makes you wanna go back and finish training at Compass, doesn't it?

Patience, grasshopper.

Then I should had being paid 5k, 4 yrs ago when they introduced it. Also 10k for my previous part 135 operation back in 2009-2010.

That's the way it is...you are already in, though luck. I never got a bonus until the retention. Some guys got 5k and the Jan/February guys got the retention money.

It's just part of the game.
