It's relative to the person's competence. Kind of like your Johnson's size varies based on how wide or tight the girl's kitty is.

As opposed to no tech interview at all for prior 121 experience, these guys get an in depth technical interview for this program.

There’s no trick. It appears that this is not an “advertised” deal, which usually means a limited group making selection more competitive. Some will be unhappy that they fell outside whatever make up the parameters. Besides, it seems that everyone still gets the large day one bonus.

This is incorrect. It's the same as any other prior 121 interview. The difference is in how they review your previous airline training records. They need to know that you can pass captain training since you'll probably be a captain in 2 months...

They will send the CJO for you to sign before they tell you that you won't be getting the extra bonus. Pretty sly move, with sly being the most polite word I can come up with to describe it... Just be careful and verify everything before committing.

Could be. Whether you get the extra bonus or not, I know first hand they will send the CJO without telling you about it whatsoever. That's why I'm assuming that's how he felt he was nearly tricked.

Also, this extra bonus is in experimental phase. It was not meant to be offered to many, from what I understand. That's why it's not being advertised. Perhaps they simply reached their quota for the testing phase so he didn't get it.
