While it's good news for LASA for now, those 200s leaving next fall worries me as to how many they might hire/upgrade. they might try what they did a few years ago and just let the operation run ultra thin so they won't be fat when the 200s go away. I hope they won't and kind of doubt they will since we should be losing a decent number of people the first half of next year due to hiring, but next summer might be rough

Update did say this is additional aircraft so good news overall
Might be msp....
MSP, DTW, MEM etc, all would be bad news for those of us that live in ATL with the 200 flying shrinking. Horrendous commutes. Might have to sit at home on reserve.

On the bright side, 12 additional planes should mean at least 60 upgrades, plus alittle more for recent attrition.

Hopefully the overwater certification process on the 200 means even more good news coming.

That's assuming zero additional aircraft next year, which I think is highly unlikely. I think AMR 700/900 flying will be announced by then

As was said earlier, I think its time for some 700 driving. ATL 200 is a sinking ship.

At least 35 upgrades though, great news

Sorry buddy but you are way off on the erj side. Upgrading and hiring on the erj side is going to happen in the next 2-3 months. They dont take ground instructors off of furlough to have them sit around. Anything could happen to derail that but as of right now they are planning on running classes. Our attrition is double that of the crj side and they are expecting a higher ratio of erj pilots to leave when hiring starts at UAL.

If you are trying to be an internet tough guy who "knows whats going on" then you are going to be constantly disappointed. No one knows and the longer you do this the less you care. I was just stating facts to a potential new hire instead of "my buddy in management said..." ... management is a bunch of dopes who will say different things depending on who they are talking to. A little humility will go a long way.

So I take that as a "no" on the bet.

I'll tell you what boy, mark this page and we shall see. If you look at past posts I would say I am correct 96%, at least, of the time.

As for humility, I think you and your boys should look in the mirror. Also, I would recommend getting the blinders off and look at the road. When things actually take place it means that they where in the works for a long time.

Good luck over the next several months. You're gonna need it!

I have heard that the Legacy Xjet side is in for a rude awakening for not getting on the Skywest Inc. boat. Hopefully it'll get them to at least stop living in "SmartPref" fantasy land
