I think you misunderstood. I said if you already have 18 months of 121 experience (as in former Comair guys) then you start at year 2 pay. That we we attract a higher caliber of candidates.

ZERO incentives like that unless I get a check for the difference. They want to offer a hiring bonus? Fine, but cut a check to every pilot on the seniority list too. Sorry but that's how it goes, I stuck out first year just like every other guy.

You almost nailed it, but remember that both airplanes are under the same category but are different types. The CL-65 type rating covers all CRJs.

Any news on the contract? I have been hearing that the union is going to cave on dual qual. This after " it was not safe" stance. Also with the new rest rules we are going to have to work an extra 2 days per month to maintain productivity with 5 day trips. Top that off with people quitting or not showing up for class after being hired. There is only a few people in the applicant pool. The reserve list is always depleted. A lot of people are now looking elsewhere to get out of here. But yet CT thinks its all good. G.O won't be saying that anymore in the next few years....
They need 51% once it gets past the MECs and it really is a math problem to them. The people they can scare into voting yes with doom and gloom, the lifers who just want a job for a few more years, and the people who can't be bothered because they are on the way out are not going to help our chances.

He didn't misunderstand, he's saying why would the company hire them at $35 an hour when they could take someone without that "18 months 121" and pay them ten dollars less.

I was told this isn't an option. The company has the XJT arbitration in hand and is beating us over the head with it. We're looking at a blended rate. For three times as much work. Look up the arbitrated 76 seat pay on the XJT side. Add a buck or two.

I will probably vote no if this makes it to the TA, but it's not "three times as much work."

You guys better hurry up and get your deal inked before Eagle ALPA manages to screw the pooch with the extra concessions being asked by the new management putting us in line with Pinnacle.

Really? Flying the 200 alone is three times as much work as the 700/900. And now you will have to memorize 3 sets of limitations for every checkride. Not to mention all the jacked up systems and procedures in the 200 we'll all have to re learn and be tested on.
