Quite the emotional response from people about the topic of checking in.

People want to be treated as professionals am I right?
They feel the company treats them like children?
Why does the company treat them like children?
Because they act like children...............

I always find it funny how everyone wants to be treated like an adult and a professional yet most people can't even spell correctly and use proper grammar when they post not only on here but in things like ASAP reports.

I laughed last year when someone in their ASAP that the company sent out in the ASAP emails typed "missed took" instead of mistook when they were describing how they screwed up the RNAV out of Atlanta.

Checking in 1 hour prior is annoying but it is the result of people abusing it and showing up 14 mins prior to departure. As a result of this, we are all treated like kids because of a few that felt the need to push it.

The 7/9 new-hire class has 14 participants.

Any idea of the base distribution for it (or what the distro will be for the 7/23 class)?

Where's the new flying coming from or is it just attrition that caused them to hire?

Checking in is not the issue. At XJT we used to have check-in procedures. However, we could check-in from any computer, not just the crew room. Our crew rooms, especially in ORD and IAH are nowhere near where we enter the airport. I will gladly check-in for a trip as long as I can do it from any computer in the airport, including my phone.

Believe it's mostly attrition and short-sighted staffing.
