No doubt I'm happy for them. But meanwhile the East Coast regionals incessantly squabble and fight for contracts/airplanes/(now pilots?) when skywest is out there stuffing their face and doing a damn good job for the passengers and airline partners.

Just an observation. (You may now cannibalize me)
Their pilots are not even close to AWAC or xjt (both sides) pilots in terms of total compensation. If this is the case for their pilots, I can only imagine the disparity in all their workgroups. That's partly how they do it. It's not cheap on the operations side, just the employee compensation end. Plus, they do run a good operation but it's not stellar either.

Sorry, bad choice of words. Their operating agreement/employment terms. I'm a new hire... Go easy

Ya think being non union (thus flexible... concessions can be imposed any time) makes a difference?

And yes, when you take their profit sharing out of the picture, their total compensation is a good bit below L-ASA. It's far below L-XJT. Their operational flexibility is unparalleled. And yes, their pilot group has always bent over and said "thank you sir, may I have another".

Out of curiosity, does LASA pay out unused vacation upon quitting? I don't have a contract in front of me. Thanks.

Additionally, they have historically had a much higher quality product to offer. On time and high completion factors mean better contracts and higher bonus payouts from the major partners, and that is where profit is made. They have made some huge strides this year to make improvements in the product XJT is providing.

P.S. if you're quitting and have sick time, look to see if anyone is in need of donated sick time. I know several generous pilots who have donated their sick time in the last week or two of their career here to whomever was in need (medical leave, etc...)

I already considered that and will donate every last hour. However, I don't have much. Good point though. I hope everyone that leaves considers this. It's a great cause and I hate to give the company and free hours.

But be careful. You can't call in sick in those 2 weeks. Look at Section 7 F.4 for details.
