Curious... is XJT honoring their word on what folks are awarded or assigned? Not too long ago, they were having trouble filling ERJ slots. They told a whole bunch of folks who had previously been assigned CRJs on their hire date to report to Houston for Indoc and that they would choose their equipment out of there. Surprise surprise... the whole Houston class was assigned ERJs as was planned from the very start.

That's probably why at least 8 from our class left for other regionals. You're the only one who went somewhere significantly better. I'm surprised nobdoy didn't walk out right then.

Wow! I wonder if they do the same with bases.

I really doubt that that actually happened. The CRJ and ERJ classes, as small as they are, are staggered a week apart on start dates now.

Heh heh. Though I didn't give a specific timeframe for that little episode, I guarantee you it most certainly did happen.

I was hired in June of 2013 and on the day of the CJO was told I'd be assigned CRJs as per my request. Some weeks later, I and several others who had also been assigned CRJs received an email which stated that all XJT new hires would report to Houston for indoc and select equipment out of there. There were about 7 of us in my class of 32 with that story and we were all not very happy when we showed up and on day one in Houston were told that the entire class would be assigned ERJs. Turns out that that had been the plan for some time; they'd just been more undermanned on the ERJ side at that time and didn't bother telling us that we would have one choice of equipment to pick on day one.

I know that circumstances have changed and the environment is substantially different now and I'd be guessing if someone asked me how classes are assigned now and how many there are in each pipeline. But looking back, on day one, those seven or eight did feel like we'd been caught in a bait and switch.

Turns out that that was a blessing in disguise because the ERJ side really did work better for me. I've flown with some great folks and have some really good friends at XJT. Just trying to get a better feel for XJT/ASA's current environment.

I was hired in June 2014 into the ERJ. I received my class date via email. I subsequently received an email asking if I would take a different date and go to CRJ. I wanted an ERJ domicile, so I said no. It was no problem and I ended up getting the domicile I wanted. There have been several system bids in the past year that have displaced people, but I guess that's "just business" in the aviation (especially regional) world.....
