Great place to be and hopefully the wait won’t be long. Gluck!

it’s certainly been rumored for several weeks now; and is consistent with other signs.. LCA hiring etc.
No doubt we have big plans for making hay the moment the sun begins to shine, but the bigger challenge is getting America traveling again, and to paraphrase ‘scientists’ the virus sets the timeline, not us.
thanks to you and everyone else for taking the COLA. May the new base of your choice be announced soon..

They will have no problem finding pilots. It's a great time to hire.

Hiring theory question... Are we under an ALPA agreement to hire other ALPA members who are furloughed from another airline? Our hiring practice has always been to bring in people that are going to stay for the long haul. Like, that's the number one attribute to have.

Dont hear what I'm not saying, I'd be happy to get other pilots off the street. It just kinda clashes from what we normally do.

Valid concern, but I think the three regional airlines that have folded over the past 6 months could supply our staffing needs for quite awhile. Given the current hiring environment, even if they did find a flying job, I doubt any of them are somewhere that they’d really want to be for the long term. Even if we did hire some furloughed legacy guys, depending on the amount of time it takes them to get recalled, they very well may choose to stay at Frontier. The pay may be a little less, but the QOL here makes up for it for many. Especially pilots who have a few decades or more of life experience under their belts at the time of their legacy furlough. At some point it doesn’t pay to go back unless you REALLY want to have the opportunity for widebody international flying towards the end of your career. For some people, that kind of flying doesn’t matter enough to start at the bottom again. Me personally, I’d love to give it a go someday, but while I’m not old by any means, I’m not young either. The little bit of salt and pepper in my hair and orthotics in my shoes tell me so. Being around for my kids with the kind of quality of life that I currently have here is way more important to me than getting behind the controls of a 777 someday.

Nope. HR hires pilots... not the union.

I doubt they’d hire furloughed legacy guys unless they gave a highly compelling reason to do so (namely giving up their #)... there’s a ton of people who would love to be at frontier, whether it’s because frontier is actually their number 1 choice or it’s a big step up in this current environment... personally, I’d like to see all the people from the folded regionals interviewed first but that’s not my call... it’s hard to fathom what they’re going through right now... and I know I know it’s difficult for guys and gals on cola 0, but they at least have something to come back to...

In the latest BB video he just stated that the current plan is to have all aircraft back online by spring. That, along with another check airman application window reminder in comply, I’d say that the hiring rumor may still be holding some weight. It’s not much, but hopefully provides a little glimmer of hope for those on cola-0s and ELS.
