I fall into that group, but strongly support a CBA. Actually, I have much more riding on this place being a true destination airline than someone with competitive quals to go to a legacy. I want to make this a better place, because I probably wont be hired at DAL/UAL/FDX/SWA.
Gald to hear it. We need more open minded new hires that listen to the truth/facts and make educated decisions vs the spin/lies of management. The problem is that too many come here and either belived the spin/lies and drink the koolaid such that they take the company position on every thing and spout "Oh, JetBLue will take care of us" or "JetBlue wouldn't do that" or "JetBlue will make us whole".
One of the problems for the typical new hire is that you need to appear to drink the koolaid to get hired and training. I have no proof that anything is going on, but it really seems funny that way to many new hires are oozing koolaid from every opening when they get to the line. It then takes several years for them to start to see the truth/facts vs the lies/spin from management.

I've posted my reasons in a couple of threads. Feel free to go back and read them. You're more or less underlining exactly what I'm talking about. You're jumping to insulting your audience. Great way to win people over to your side. Awesome. Good job. For the record, I have close to 3000 TPIC and a four year degree..
Sure. It's "highly unlikely" to forecast anything in aviation accurately 5 years from now. So, are you giving up on trying to get a CBA? If so, do the rest of us a favor and just leave and/or drop the conversation. There are those of us that are a) Pro-CBA and b) still want to stay at B6 to make it happen. If you're burned out, that's cool. Just step to the side.

I am NOT talking about forecasting "anything". I'm talking about forecasting the likelyhood of JB Pilots having a competitive contract "within" the next 5 years. THAT, and SPECIFICALLY THAT, is extremely unlikely.
The Airline industry is all about forecasting and IT IS accurate looking 24 months ahead using historic data.
No Causal Forecasting would predict anything other than continued sub par compensation. And, that forecast would be accurate for at least the next two years, and beyond!

Lemme see, in my class that started on 11/7, that would be...none of us. 11 guys total, all high time, one military, two corp (one with a lot of international TPIC time) and the rest were regionals. I think 2 guys weren't CAs with 1000+ TPIC. However, the easily met UniCal's mins.
I can't put it any simpler than that.

I'd prefer to see some kind of turbine hour requirement here myself. I'm not defending their stated minimums, I'm just pointing out that what guys THINK people are being hired with and what they actually ARE might not be the same.

I don't disagree with that. You and others have said jetBlue is hiring guys that can't go anywhere else. In my class, the only guys that DIDN'T have TPIC both had degrees and could apply at Delta and United. Neither has a TPIC requirement, and of the two Delta is the only one that requires a degree. If you wanna get technical, Delta and United don't require an ATP while jetBlue does. They require ATP mins, but not the actual rating. Looking at US Airways, pretty much every regional FO could apply their as well. I'd wager that MOST guys applying (at least when the window is open) at jetBlue could/are applying at least to United and US Airways. The guys with degrees could apply at Delta as well. Of the FOs I flew with over the past 5 years, I think maybe 1 or 2 DIDN'T have degrees. With the way internet courses work right now, there's really no way you can't finish a degree on-line.

Some of you JetBlue haters and complainers are so out to lunch all I can do is laugh. Two guys I know have been at American for almost 15 years. They are on reserve and make 110 hour. Buddy at united has been there over 12 and makes 109 hour. Another buddy at continental 7 years at 94 hour. So if you think JetBlue is not up to par with pay your out to lunch. You can't compare JetBlue to a cargo company that flies internationally. If you do then throw all the other cargo companies in the mix and see where the pay falls. Your also dead wrong on hiring mins. Delta does not even require an ATP. It's not like guys are going to JetBlue cause its the only place they can, they are the only ones hiring. Yeah I know delta opened window to interview in late 2013. United/cal opened there window, even though about 1500 still furloughed, good luck there. FedEx was hiring, family and friends. Southwest brought in about 140, all stuck behind the AirTran guys. The bottom line is this, compare JetBlue pay to other companies that fly the same airplane. Not delta's or united's highest pay scale, look at their lowest pay scale, cause that's where you will be. Some "legacies" have lower hiring mins. Right now, and for 2013 JetBlue is the only place hiring. You complainers are just talking out of your A**
