Congrats man!

It will be nice to get on with training and not have to come to this thread for poolie news only to be bombarded with everything but.

Default jetblue pilot poolies

Slightly off topic:

How difficult is it to drop time? Can you take unpaid time off easily? On reserve can you drop days for a loss in pay?

The problem is that the line pilots hear almost nothing about what is happening with new hires and training from management. What we do hear from management often turns out to be more lies and spin.

All we can do is advise you what it is really like here at JetBlue and what you will see on the line and reserves.

Just my opinion......

Line holders can UTO down to 70hrs and PTO as much as they want (based on available PTO). However all is based on available reserves.

Reserves can UTO 1 day and PTO as much as they want (based on available PTO). PTO and UTO are based on 4:12 per day (I think). Again, all based on available reserves.

JetBlue's big thing is to keep above 70hrs of credit (line and reserves). However, if you call in sick, you can take it as paid PTS/Paid time Sick (from our PTO) or as UTS/Unpaid time Sick. When you take UTS, you can go below 70hrs.

Just my opinion......

Congrats! Was wondering if the January classes were going to happen with the Dec 5th class being bigger than projected.

From my experience at my last airline and what I've heard from friends at other airlines, that's not atypical. The ONLY reason I knew what was going on with hiring at my last place was I had friends that did the interviews and I lived in the base where HQ and the interviews and training took place. The guys in other bases never knew what was up with new hires, either.

All we can do is advise you what it is really like here at JetBlue and what you will see on the line and reserves.
And for that, I'm very appreciative. I just get a little tweaked when guys start "misrepresenting" the facts or tossing in rumors and presenting them as facts. It's not all roses and glitter, and everyone (including me) needs to know that.
