Yes people finally left republic but how many rode it threw years with no contract and poor QOL? Like I've said jumping ship isn't an overnight decision for most. People are leaving here but not really that many. We still have enough to staff the fleet we have. All management and AA sees is how many people we need in each section from CAs, FOs to new hires. Right now all we need is new hires so expect money to only ho towards new hires. If they needed current people to stay they would have put effort into it but unfortunately as of now they don't. The best thing that can happen for them is senior people leave and new hires making less come in to fill those slots making less money. Expect the effort to be put into new hires because they don't need to put any into current employees.

How long have you been on reserve for? Getting stuck on reserve is always a possibility. I've been on reserve for 3 years at this company and I can guaranDAMNtee you that it was way way way worse back then than it is now. The guys that I flew with when I first got hired sat reserve for 4-5 years!

You aren't describing anything that most of us haven't already done. If you think it's that bad then leave. Do you think reserve at Republic or GoJet will be any better?

QoL at PSA sits with line holders, the fact that you work more for less money is certainly not fair, but that isn't any different from any other airline in the entire country.

Why are you buying your own hotel out of base?

Why are you allowing the company to put you on hot reserve out of base?

Um FO grids are in the negative. They did put effort into it. Granted not enough to fix the problem. But 2,500 every 3 months and 250 a month at the Best western in Dayton would have been a good start. And people stayed at republic for years bc there was nowhere else to go. As soon as there was they went. And yes we all knew how much we we're going to to make when we started here. Then everybody almost doubled us. So the new guy almost every where else makes more from the get go than I will ever make as an FO at PSA. And it's not hard to jump ship when you don't lose anything by moving. Everything stays the same or gets better. Oh SAP. Yea it's great but the company throws a choke hold on that every time they can. Getting some unknown error sorry we will fix it later. You just don't get to SAP your schedule this month. But have a good day.

Buy hotels in base--realize that was not clear.

What you did and I have done in the past is irrelevant.

Currently this place is what it is and is nothing like what was represented.

Defend it as you see fit.

As far as the hot reserve...they can. I recorded the call and it was sent to the union--it is a grey area. In the "Pick your battles" of life I am not going to "take a stand", refuse it and get fired from a company that I am leaving anyway.

I recognize who I am and what PSA is.

I have no desire to deceive myself.

Good luck to everyone.

Straight from the CP office, its legal. They're essentially TDY'ing you to another base and you're considered based there, so you can sit hot reserve. They just don't tell you they're TDY'ing you because they don't know they are, but thats the CP office rationale, and apparently the unions as well.

I am most certainly not defending PSA. Their shenanigans have become borderline criminal, and I would never recommend a pilot come here, whereas a year or 2 ago I would have.

My point is the stuff that everyone is on here all up in arms about......We did it. We did it for longer and in worse conditions, but back then there was no "better option." Unfortunately what we did in the past is ABSOLUTELY relevant. It is hardwired human behavior to be shaped by what we did in the past and form opinions as such. So yes it is a little frustrating to see someone posting about how terrible their life is that they have to sit reserve for 4 whole months. If it's that bad then leave, you have next to nothing invested here and there are some pretty enticing options out there.

As far as the hot reserve thing that is disappointing to hear. It goes against past practice and I would have hoped the CPs would agree. Add another thing to the list...

Does not matter what airline you go to, if you commute you will always be miserable or stressed. This job hasn't been worth commuting to for a long time now. I can understand leaving for another airline that pays more but even with hotels commuting isn't worth it IMHO and I did it for 8 years. 80% of the stress with this job is due to commuting, pick a place that you can drive to in 2 hours or less and then go to an airline with a base there. If you absolutely have to commute, PSA isn't a good choice.

Hang onto your past if you think it serves you.

No one else cares.

Mine stays in the past.

Here we are.

I am leaving. I have nothing invested in this place and have better options.

Those that do (and want to leave) will leave, and those that don't will not.

PSA knows that and has the cards to play. no one knows what their plans or intentions are, but they are out of gimmicks, no one is buying what they are offering so the growth is done and the issues it made bearable will continue to get worse.

Good luck to you, seriously.

Let me make sure I know what you're saying. Upgrade is going to drop from 8 years to 2 years in 8 months. There is not a chance, but keep up those recruiting efforts....
