Feel free to run your b!tch mouth in either place. Then again it is tough to talk with a mouth full of your CA's c!ck.

He's been playing poker with his regionals since 2013,.... and he's been winning! Because ALPA let him win. But Dougie's due for a losing hand. Let's see if ALPA makes him play his hand or once again folds to his bluff.
. I agree with you that Parker may hold the strings to bonuses and pay increases during a contract, but Dion is the one that could change the following: efficient high time lines, follow the current contract, reserve grid manipulation, scheduling department to be more pilot friendly, improve crew rooms sooner (sure would help commuters), user friendly employee website, fewer plane swaps, less DH, planes with less MELs, decision to hire DEC (this was short sighted thinking as it killed the ability to hire FOs as we have seen by the new hire class sizes) and the list goes on.
I know Dion does not run each area but it's his responsibility to oversee the entire operation and make changes for the betterment of our customers and employees. Happy employees sure help make happy customers!

My lack of confidence is based on all these factors and more.

In light of the scraps that AAG and Parker have thrown to their wholly owns, which is obviously far below the industry standard, can someone try to explain as to why they are being so stingy? They posted record profits last year, what could be going on that they don't care to be competitive amongst their competitors. A more in depth explanation, guess, or stated "fact" would be much preferred to the easy answer that Parker is just a sh**bag and hates his employees!

Could be one, or more, of several reasons. Possibly, they are waiting on one of their regional "competitors" to fail (i.e. Republic,) and hope that enough pilots will jump ship and come to a WO to fend off the staffing crisis. Also, they are at least smart enough to pit the three WOs against each other to keep them all fairly cheap. Ex., give PSA the 900s and promise them Envoy's 700s to scare Envoy into concessions. Threaten PDT with a shutdown and then give them 145s to further intimidate Envoy. When Envoy accepts the new hire and FO bonuses, refuse anything more for the other two because what's good enough for one should be good enough for all. They have their own in house whipsaw game going.

By keeping regionally feed cheap, especially the wholly owned carriers where the money comes back to AAG, they make more money. They're following a buisness model of Doug's LCC days where performance and customer satisfaction are not as important as the bottom line.

The record profits are mostly due to unexpectedly low fuel costs, not some amazing management team. It won't last forever. When gas goes back up profits will be down and the "pilot shortage" will give AAG the excuse needed to cut service to less profitable markets and reduce frequency to others.

Until then Doug will do whatever he can to keep costs down in the short term, even if that stradegy may cost more down the road with loss of customers and disgruntled employees. Afterall, his bounses are based on the last years' performance, not the next.

Plus when they reach the point that being so cheap with regionals no longer allows them to attract new hires they can simply sell the scope back to mainline as a bargaining chip, reducing overall costs further.

Management has many options, and they will take the "whatever is cheapest at the time" everytime.

So it looks like I went from #276 out of 282 FO's in March's bid in CLT to #272 out of 277 FO's in April's bid. It seems to me like we're retaining a lot of FO's. They appear to have added a lot more round 1 lines in CLT and have about 20 fewer round 2 lines. This means less people on reserve and a higher chance of the highly sought after critical pay. I'm at the bottom of the list here in CLT and things here aren't all doom and gloom. I've enjoyed flying with every captain so far and I haven't been promised anything I'm not getting. The pay/ contract will continue to improve if they want to keep PSA staffed but as of now, I'm logging lots of time on reserve and getting paid like I expected to get paid being a first year FO. Keep your chins up guys, things will continue to get better!
