I've been told that they plan on announcing ORD sometime soon as a recruiting tool to get more commuters interested in this place. But ORD is sort of predicated on our being able to staff and grow AND receive the remaining Envoy 700s that AAG wants transferred. So the company may be playing with fire on that one.
The company knows how to staff, they're just dragging their feet hoping that, somehow, they won't have to pay what it's going to take to staff.

And yeah, a better base will help; just look at Mesa and their ability to get people to show up. Although that could be coming to a close.

From my understanding, PSA management has been more than willing to work with our Union regarding improving things to attract new pilots. It's AAG that doesn't want to cough up any more money. Apparently PSA management has taken ideas to AAG and been stonewalled every time.

This is true. But what can we expect from DP? Former CEO of an LCC, so his mindset is and always will be on keeping things as cheap and low cost as possible. He doesn't care about employees or customers, just $$$. And despite all his lies that say differently, his actions keep showing it. Until he quits drinking (and driving) and sees more clearly, no wholly owned is going to improve by much.

AAG also just spent the last 3 years whipsawing PSA snd Envoy to get those hard won concessions at the the WOs. The last thing he wants to do is turn around and raise pay now.

There's what AAG wants to do, and what they're going to have to do, and those are very different things. If they want to be flying a lot of 76 seat aircraft they're going to have to figure out how to compete in this market.

But for now, should we just fly it and grieve it?

You're more than welcome to try it differently. Just don't be surprised when it doesn't work out like you thought it would.

You don't think the union will support a pilot who doesn't fly it and is clearly in the right?

The union absolutely will support you. The difference is it's possible they could be arguing a termination grievance rather than just a contract violation.

Is it likely they'd fire someone? Probably not, but your guess is as good as mine. Is it possible? Sure, go read section 5 of the Pilot Employee Handbook and 26.U of the contract. Would you get your job back? Most likely. In the end the question boils down to how long do you want to risk not earning an income?
