Growth would benefit everyone. The company lost momentum and that has caused the growth to stagnate. If 25-30 new FO's were starting each week, the upgrades would pick up and likewise the flow number, as each new captain comes online (even at the current meager number). Increased track to the left seat, which is what pretty much everyone is looking at, means increased pay and also faster growth of each individual resume, resulting in faster departure to wherever your heart desires.

They caused the backlog, which caused the stagnation, then they sat on their hands for 4+ months barely hiring any new FO's and thought that announcing 1000 pilots in 2 years would get the engine fire back up. People stopping coming as soon as the upgrades stopped. Any dope can see that. People were coming here in droves before the flow, so that is obviously not the big draw. Upgrades Upgrades Upgrades.

No, of course theyre not going to fix it. If they were going to, they would have already. I was simply making the statement about growth benefiting the current pilots on property, as some seem to think its better for the company to stagnate.

A Ponzi scheme works too until it loses new money/investors/suckers.

This actually makes sense. Systemized, is this your opinion or have you heard this around the line.
I can see the flow number and PBS being talked about behind closed doors but you are right. Without the work rule increase the two would not be enough to curve a positive vote.

I can see the flow number and PBS being talked about behind closed doors but you are right. Without the work rule increase the two would not be enough to curve a positive vote.AAG through PSA management will make an offer for some contractual improves and flow increase in exchange for PBS. The MEC will put it out to a vote. The offer doesn't have to be amazing but a 9/month flow and better min-day/duty rig/premium pay could get a 51% yes vote. The per pilot cost would increase slightly but each pilot becomes more efficient to the company and it ends up being an overall savings for the company due to less pilots per block hours required.
Don't expect anything from our union now though, they will keep everything tight lipped until it's time to vote. People will be very upset about the idea of getting rid of the SAP line bidding for PBS and therefore the union won't say anything until a LOA is ready to review right before a vote. Why did the last survey mention PBS? Because it's coming...

I say go ahead and bargain away the SAP. Management has essentially rendered it useless for most of us anyway. SAP has become more of a recruiting tool for management and less of a quality of life enhancement tool for the pilot group.

The company just announced FOUR upgrades for July!
At that rate, assuming only half of our f/o's stick around long enough to upgrade, this week's new hires can expect to upgrade in 5.7 years!
I guess managements assertion that no first officer would ever be affected by the 4 year pay cap, (unless he chose to skip upgrade), was wrong.

So, people hired in 2014 have a 3 year upgrade.
People hired today will likely not upgrade for 6 years.
