Why in the hell would you want to rip an idiot?? He is clueless and you could just give him the dumb look.

Seems flight cancellations are on the rise again. Republic had recently asked to give some flying back to mainlines and that seemed to reduce the amount of cancellations for a time but they are back up again.

At this point it may be best to have a quick visit through bankruptcy in order to dump Delta altogether. That way United and American can better be served.

From Air Transport World, Sept 22, 2015:

Republic Airways, pilots to meet with NMB on new contract.

The International Brotherhood of Teamsters (IBT) and Republic Airways will meet with the National Mediation Board (NMB) for the second time this week to discuss a new pilot contract.
The deal would cover almost 2,100 aviators at Republic Airlines and Shuttle America, the union told pilots in an email Sept. 21.
The meeting on Sept. 24 will come eight days after the union and the company met with NMB mediators in Washington. According to a union email, the IBT presented mediators at the first NMB session with its counterproposal to the airline’s last-best-and-final offer, which the regional carrier unveiled in August. The IBT also gave the NMB an estimate as to the cost of its proposal. The mediators then presented that offer to the company, and the two sides discussed it with mediators present, the union told pilots.
Reached after the Washington session, IBT Local 357 President Jim Clark declined to comment. The company did not reply to requests seeking comment.
Previously, Republic has said it would not negotiate from its final offer. VP-human resources Matt Koscal told ATW’s sister publication Aviation Daily in August that the pilots were going to have to vote on the company’s proposal, or the airline might seek a court-ordered restructuring.
“A last-best-and-final offer is exactly as it is defined,” Koscal said. “Our pilots are going to have a make a determination on its merits.” However, the union has refused to permit pilots to vote on the offer and has shown no signs of changing its stance.

The reason airlines continue to use this strategy is their success rate.

My prediction is: See Pinnacle Airlines 2012.

They offer you guys something they can't afford, it gets voted in, 6-12 months later companys says they can't afford new contract, enter CH11, shed all the CPAs that make the least money, 145 lift, some of the UAL 170 flying.

Could be wrong but wouldn't be surprised.

I see BB parting the clouds and ascending to heaven before I see him approve a better LLLBFO.

According to a certain executive that came in our class. There will never be a TA. They are sticking to the lbfo.

Then the NMB should release you guys. Is that the VP of HR? I thought he was the good guy? Historically the IBT has not been able to get an airline released, so I wouldn't hold your breath.

Nature will simply take its course, no release is even necessary. Being released guarantees the demise of the company very quickly. Doing nothing just lets the company bleed out a slow death as flying is forced to be given back. Doesn't matter anyway, as this is the end game for all regionals in the future.

It is abundantly clear that both sides are willing to let the company die, and that may not be such a bad thing (in general for the industry, obviously sucks if you are a pilot employed there).
