Quote: I'm not rooting for the end of Endeavor, but it seems the only way to get Delta to move is if their back is against a wall. With us finding 60+ a month still showing up to class, they have no motivation to improve things here. If you want contract improvements and a flow it will probably take at the least imminent expiration of the bonus and class sizes less than half of what we are currently seeing. So in that sense, I'm not hoping for Endeavor to fail, I'm hoping the recruitment team stops being very successful. Frankly I'm shocked that so many are still showing up here over any of the AA flow airlines. It'd be a no brainer to me, but I guess we are getting a lot of 50+ year olds that don't care about a flow as they plan to end their career here.
We are saying the same thing at PSA. We have consistently full classes and are wondering why guys wouldn't just go to Endeavor. Flow is a carrot for someone with less than 7 years on propperty, and the company and union are at odds with the ratios of captains to trigger increased flow. If you get a good contract that will change, as I'm sure our attendance will dwindle.

Quote: My class is about the same. We have military pilots that have job offers at different majors or are in the process of interviewing.
My new-hire class a year ago had four military (myself included) out of 30 new pilots. Two of us were looking to get current and the other two are mil helo drivers building fixed wing turbine time. Several of us have moved on or are in the process of doing so now.

Quote: The older pilots I'm seeing are retired military. And many of them are just here to get current again. I just flew with one guy that's been here a year give or take, and he had interviews with Delta and FedEx. He received offers from both. I believe he was also in the early stages with Southwest and American as well. Guys/gals that are ex military or already have a strong resume don't really care about flow either as they probably can get to a major faster on their own
Yep, I know exactly who you speak of. Good dude and a friend of mine from college. Super solid resume. Happy for him.

mods are now a go, the issues are what/who will be flying in and out of MSP,DTW, ATL,... we all know SkyWest has dominion on everything West of MSP and anything east that isn't a crap show or hub.... That ATL C gate deal must be huge

September looks like more huge cuts on the 200 in DTW and MSP to massively grow ATL.

Also more cuts on the 900 in DTW and MSP to grow NY.

More of the same.

But upper management said no more shrinking in DTW....flat out lies???? Could it be the seasonal draw down??

EDIT: How could there be massive cuts to the 200 in DTW? there isn't much left there to begin with....if that was the case why not close the 200 base then in DTW if it will be that much downsized

We started the year at about 60 departures per day at DTW, it will be around 30 in September. 25 for MSP...around 65 for ATL.

I start class next week, forgive me for the ignorance...how do you know this? How many departures are out of ATL right now per day?

They know that closing either DTW or MSP would cause a big cascading displacement that would potentially kill this company. If you flush the super senior out of DTW or MSP by force then an already souring pilot group would explode.
