Agreed. I'm not sure I'm going to sign up for any of the new boards. The old one sort of proved that it was safe over a long period of time, the new ones have a lot to prove. Besides, APC has been our "old reliable", maybe it's the best place to post.

Looks like a long year for Boys fans!

Really great points, thanks gentlemen!

The registration process has been updated and changed in order to protect all of our members and the board.

Hey, guys and gals, this board will just be picking up from where the other board left off. No gimmicks. No surprises. No conspiracy's. No management. And.......NOT union driven. And......NOT UNION RAN.

You ALL know we LOST our voice when the last board was FORCED to be shut down. This new board will continue the old board's legacy and be a tool for fellow line pilots to have their true voice and opinion heard without worry....

One of you,

What he said.

APC is bar far the best place to post if you want to stay anonymous. You can get a VPN, get an email through a server in say Iran, then sign up for this board hmmmm say from Romania, and nobody will have the resources to figure out who you are as long you don't hack Target's website and steal a million CC numbers.

There is no such a thing as "anonymous" and also "verified" at the same time. You can't be verified and stay anonymous. Is that really that difficult to understand? So think before you open your mouth enjoying that all so illusive privacy that went extinct with the dawn of the internet.

Great. Glad to hear you're willing to listen to input.

That was NOT great to hear. A forum owner/moderator should not take sides. It sounds like this new board is not intended to be a place for discussion, but rather to be an anti-(current)MEC mouthpiece. What is going to happen if, say, the current MEC leadership is voted out, as a small group of vocal users of the former site advocated? Will your forum then become a cheering section, fawning over the new leadership with a 'these guys can do no wrong' attitude?

To come out so strongly AGAINST the union, so early into the process - it's off-putting to those seeking access to unbiased information. I can wade through the sophomoric musings of the ignorant, lazy, and selfish on my own (as well as contribute to it, sadly, on occasion).

Im confused, do I understand that the new "board" it's going to be a NON-UNION board ? Against our union, pro union, for a different union, or what kind of effing union do you guys want?

The all transparent union Non union that you are going to be better at?, the all for me union, the crystal clear if I run it union? I'm better at it than you all union?, I criticized because that all I can do union?

Cause I can't see the difference between putting down any efforts to move to a better contract here or any board, it'll never, NEVER going to be good enough.

Wether it's THIS board or the one made by Dr Effing Evil, The Almighty, or the guy know knows a guy who knows a pilot in miramar, It really doesn't matter were we write; (it's always something that happen before, finger pointing, I could've done it better, they are stealing from me, they don't have the best interest at heart (that's why all the negotiators still here!) and easier to critic than to help).

Let's bring concrete ideas to better this contract. Because at negotiations time, our guys are gonna go in against mgmt, and the last thing they deserve or need is 1000 of us finger pointing criticizing instead of helping, if you were there you wouldn't want that would you?

Please, stop the nonsense fighting and contribute for the better of all of us and our families.

Sailor.

I'm assuming he is emphasizing NON Union and NON Union ran in order to distance that forum from ALPA, to prevent a redo of the last forum.

Non Union as to mean Non union affiliated or sponsored.

I heard that the owner of the site (an individual who was not the moderator or admin of the site) pulled the plug voluntarily after ALPA National requested information about the site. No threats of legal action, just a request for information. Maybe the request was very intimidating, I don't know, but this was the explanation given to me.

Good luck with the new board. I didn't belong to the old one, and quite frankly, judging from the quality of the discourse here, I am not favorably inclined to sign up for the replacement board. No one here has provided much in the way of clarity about their beefs with the MEC. Ironically, you guys demanding transparency are pretty darn opaque yourselves when it comes to your allegations of malfeasance.

I will support the MEC until I become convinced they don't deserve my support. But what is NOT going to convince me that the bums need to go is a few guys on a message board who only succeed in making themselves look like nothing more than a fringe element of malcontents.

Having ALPA* and their pack of "Not ready for prime-time" attorneys sending an "information request" could very well be intimidating(and if you don't think it's a threat, enjoy Fantasy Land). Whoever ran that site didn't collect membership fees and there was no advertising, so they would need to pay for legal representation themselves. ALPA legal may not be the brightest organization on the planet, but they are well funded.

*All references to ALPA, or any part therof, are my own personal opinion, so please don't sue me. Your mileage may vary. Please do not read this post without first consulting your physician, and please stop reading if you feel faint or dizzy.

Hard to show you a smoking gun when SPA ALPA financials are burried deeper than Jimmy Hoffa. Fringe Element? I think I'll use that for my screen name on the new board, thanks.

"you guys"?

You are confusing me with someone. I have nothing to do with the new or the old b****board. I stopped reading the old one a good while ago and I am not interested in signing up for a so called anonymous board.

Obviously this new one will continue exactly where the other one left off. Just look the username: alpashutusdown. Hmmmm oooookaaay! No agenda there!

Like Nedskid and Sailor said it. It will never be good enough for these guys no matter who runs the union. It is an all "me me me me" crowd.
