I am not specifically talking about the pay for boarding or door pay. My comment is in reference to ‘sitting down and pushing buttons for ten minutes’ is a safe and real preflight. So you agree with that? You are ready to go after pushing buttons for ten minutes? Please , PM me your schedule, so I can be sure and keep my family off your airplane.

I don’t see anything wrong with boarding pay. It is the gift that keeps on giving. Every time we get a pay bump we get a bump in boarding pay. Obviously management has no qualms with the idea.

With the continuous distractions and repeating work to ensure I picked up where I left off, any MEL that requires my attention, calling dispatch for some fuel, reviewing all our possible taxi/runway change plan with WDR issues like tailwinds, TO power, packs off etc., deice calls and planning, jumpseat/nonrev check walk, NOTOC, LEOs, new FO brief every effin leg, FC meet and greet (ok, I don't do that) and my PDP, I'm easily at 45 minutes.

Whether or not we get paid for it is a separate debate, either in our hourly rates like Betty Crocker says, or maybe added in by some formula such as door pay that the FA group already has established. I am ok either way. If it’s given without much fuss, hell no one ever says no to more money. If it come with a price tag, well then that’s maybe not worth the squeeze.

Besides, it’s a good way to get some soft pay to keep “the general public” from questioning our hourly rate.
Honestly baffled why anyone would be against the “me too” on boarding pay.

I would hugely disagree with that. They’ve been riding our coat tails for years, and have been the unseen entity in the room every time we tried to negotiate just about anything (SIL’s ring a bell?). What’s good for the goose is good for the gander. It’s about time that blade cuts the other way.

Because it's unnecessary and IMO, beneath our profession. . Just roll everything into the hourly rate. What's next? Accepting tips like FAs get occasionally? Soft gains can also be attained thru other methods like increased DC vs wasting negotiating capital on boarding pay like it's a amateur hour

Beneath you to accept tips? Good to know your van drivers are beneath you. If you’re wrapped up in what you call your compensation your arrogance is getting in the way. The only reason I don’t accept tips is because Delta says I can’t.
