If you are on reserve right now making 75 hours a month on first year captain pay that's $54,000 a year, plus your bonus = $77,000.

If the bonus gets integrated at 83 hours then that's $23 an hour on top, but if you only make min guarantee your pay goes down to $74,783. Percentage wise it's not huge for a captain but that is a $2200 pay cut. That is a lot of money to make up in soft pay. Even if you end up with an extra $1000 a year in healthcare benefits, an extra 0.5% on your 401k, it's not worth it.

I will vote no to anything that results in a cent less pay for anyone on property. There is lots of open time right now but there is no guarantee that will be around forever and an 83 hour base screws over everyone who is a new hire, bids a more senior base (MSP), or upgrades and goes back on reserve. Unless of course they raise min guarantee to 83 hours.

Last year, a new FO made $50,000 min guarantee. This year, that same pilot will make $52,970, while a new hire makes $57,270. If the 83 hour pay rate goes into effect, the 2-year FO makes $50,760 min guarantee. That's a $2,200 loss in pay this year, and only $760 more then he made the first year.

As a pilot over 45, what is more attractive to me than a pay cut here or even a flow are lifetime flight benefits at an AA WO that aren't lost if one does flow to AA. 5 years here and 5 years at DL equals nothing in the way of flight bennies.

Don't go to go jet. I fly on them a lot. Friends at tsa say it's not in super amazing shape there either. Pdt and PSA would be more destination right now if I was looking. The travel benefits, 401k, and flow are so much better than ours.

No worries guys, I'll cancel that no vote with mine.

Delta doesn't play and they only have us here because it's good for their bottom line, when it's not they will go in a different direction as quickly as you can say Comair.

We get what we can now. If the market dictates we incrementally get more.

Never going to teach Delta any sort of lesson.

Ever.
+1^

Guys who got screwed on the SSP or some other way by Delta are out to grind an axe. "Don't wear the hat, don't do this, don't do that, screw Delta let's stick it to em." Still trying to burn the ship to the ground to prove a point. Good luck with your neon lanyards and strong arming Delta. You guys actually make me want to wear the hat.

That's why I liked working under NWA better, with them is was just business. Delta however, it's their way, or the highway.

I think the $2,200 can be offset by reducing your 401 contribution % since the company will contribute more.
Since you're so concerned only about your gross guaranteed $

How much have we already lost since it has been months since the company offered to convert the bonus to bi-weekly as salary for sick, 401K, etc? I hope this gamble to get the top 25% more money pays off.

I'm willing to wait and see what they come up with. If the ancillary benefits are improved substantially...... I'm a little disappointed though to see that commuter benefits disappeared from talks. I know rooms were a stretch, but stipend or something.... It's really hard to properly explain to someone that has never been based in NY just how expensive everything is.
