LOL 2.5 years is a very long time away. The whole regional industry will be vastly different in 2.5 years, especially now with all the hiring.... I was hired in 2007 at ASA and was told a 2 year upgrade.........ya....8 years later, still no where near an upgrade...take what airlines say with a grain of salt. Best bet for new hires, find an airline that is near where you live and has a decent (enough) contract, just in case you get stuck there for 8 years. That, and hope you're lucky.

Does 4-(soon to be 5) day trips, non commutable, 60 hr lines sounds good?

How about a 16yr flow?

But the 10 yr upgrade is the game changer!

Good Luck!

This vacancy bid defiantly helps the guys that have been stuck on reserve for 3 years or more. We will see how junior it goes.
This all depends if your finally place to settle is American. If the upgrade is 2.5 years so what about the flow? The flow is there just to retain people that want to go to American. United, Delta and a few others will be hiring big time. Don't look at the flow so much as such a positive for just going to American. Look at the fact it will help you upgrade faster and have a better QOL in a shorter time.

My point was that the infamous 2.5 year upgrade is all contingent on the flow working perfectly, one hiccup (without any increase in flying) then those numbers go at the window.

5 day trips should require Union approval and right now it's a no go

We are just about done with the 16 year people. Roughly 100 people left.

Junior Captain is 07 hire right now, so that's 8 year upgrade

So 8/16 would be more appropriate than 3/6.

Good Luck!

Between ENY PSA & PDT only about 25-30% of hiring at AA is available for street hires. Unless you're a NASA rocket scientist, military pilot, or part of the family already, then you may as well cross AA off your list unless you're at one of their wholly owneds.

This year about 70% of all new hires at AA came from Envoy. They have had one (1) street hire on the AA side since March of this year. Everything else has been recalls and flows.

That is currently true. I'm sure that it has mostly been to get rid of those expensive pesky senior captains rather than out of the kindness of AAG management. What happens after the 824 and captains are much less senior as well as capped at 12 year pay? I bet the percentage begins a downward trend as the 824 comes to an end.
