It is a bit more automated, but not by much. At the level of the majors, they are quite certain one can fly and handle automation at any level already. What they look for is a pilot who can be a good reliable employee and who their fellow pilots can handle spending 4 days with. In that sense, a 175 makes no difference.

Being that your screen name is E175driver I would suggest your a little biased.

No major cares which regional jet you fly, stop kidding yourself. SJS at its finest.

Maybe he is, but maybe not either.

No and as a matter of fact we just found out that our company has decided to withhold E75 FO's who have been awarded an upgrade for staffing reasons. Pilots end up paying for managements incompetence.

that's a surprise, pilots paying for management stupidity. envoy management is dictatorial and works via intimidation. the union sends emails telling us what management is doing, this after we have complained to the union, so they basically are telling everyone nothing. But the union does nothing, nothing new, business as usual.

They do make CA pay while they wait, yes? Senior schedule and CA rates, I'd be telling the company to take their time...

Actually they get paid captain pay while enjoying senior FO QOL. Not a bad deal and the contract allows it for a max of 6 months. So less time on captain reserve.
