Captain Tony, I've flown with all 3. It helps prepare for the TMAAT questions at other airlines.

Was just chatting with a friend about this and wanted to share:
Section 25.P.2
Captains Flying as First Officers
a. A reserve captain may be required to fly as a first officer if no
reserve first officers are available to fly an assignment.
b. If both crewmembers are on reserve, the more senior reserve
(by pilot system seniority) will designate who will be captain and
first officer.
c. If the other crewmember is a lineholder, he will be the captain.
d. A reserve captain will not be required to fly more than 20 hours
as a first officer in a month.
e. The pilot will be paid and credited as a captain for the first
officer assignment.
f. A pilot retains the responsibility to determine if an assignment is
safe, and may reasonably refuse an assignment to fly as first officer.

This should cause an automatic NO vote from any captain currently on reserve or anyone hoping to upgrade any time soon. Right now, if the company can't find anything for me to do in the left seat of a 200, to the house I go. If this BS passes, I know scheduling will definitely find me something to do each and every time I think I'm going home, especially as new hires get harder to come by.
I was a fence sitter until I realized this little gem in the TA does more damage to my QOL as a reserve captain than all others combined.
Count me as a definite NO!

So I can't find any mention of GDOs for reserve so I assume they were given away. Haha as if I needed more reasons to vote no...

After reading the TA, I'm willing to call the company's bluff and vote NO. They're going to shrink us no matter how we vote with the draw down of 50 seaters so I'm not buying into the whole doom and gloom pitch.

Before the whole negotiations, I had asked the reps to push for a no change to the final schedule put out to the reserves. They deserve to know what their month would look like in order to plan appointments, etc. When scheduling has the ability to move those day at their whim, you are taking away the little QOL that a reserve has.
It doesn't matter now and the only way to make a change is to vote accordingly.

I think overall reserve QOL decreases with this TA, and the number of people who will be on reserve will increase (and it's too high as is). I can't believe they didn't insert a maximum on reserve coverage. Look at IAD for DEC:
-18 reserves, yet the TLV was set at 100.
-27%+ of the total FOs, and 37.5% WRT line holders.
and on a side note:
-Number of lines with Christmas GDOs: 1
-Number of lines with New Year's Eve GDOs: 0
Scheduling already has the reserves by the neck, and now they want us to give them MORE control over our lives?
Give me a break!

There was a committee tasked with developing ways to improve reserve QOL. I spoke at length with one of its members about the proposals. He said they would be good enough where some senior folks would bid long call. I guess we now know where those recommendations ended up.
