How many more 200's are we scheduled to lose this year?

I gave up on the upgrade at five years in. What sucks watermelons through a garden hose is the closing of IAD and the subsequent loss of relative seniority in my new base. Seven years of swinging gear and we get to work weekends again... If as an FO here you can stay positive about the future of your career at XJT, then I say bravo sir and pass me a hit of whatever it is you're smoking. The regional model is crumbling around us, that is the only optimism I have left. These companies will shrivel and go back to their 80's and 90's sizes. We all move the eff on and have productive careers at REAL airlines...

Are we really only getting one preliminary award on, what looks to be, the largest displacement since the furlough? Nice job XJT.

If you are an FO with an opportunity to leave ....DO IT. I hope the rumors of some management folks telling folks to hold on are not true.

That starts getting a little tough if you have no TPIC time, and then put upgrade who knows how far away at a LCC. It's not terribly tough for FOs to get on at places like Spirit, JB, etc if you have a pretty solid resume with a few thousand hours of 121 time. But some of these places will take you and then you'll have years until upgrade. There may, MAY, be some upgrades here around the corner. What call do you make then? Stay and hopefully upgrade so you can get some TPIC, or go and leave it all behind?

1) ultimately want to be at American
2) are 200 from upgrade at XJT
Do you go to Virgin America, or something like that just to get out... or do you stay and maybe upgrade. You know as well as everybody else that TPIC is going to help you, especially if you have a good resume aside from that.

As CanoeBum stated, he's five years in and no upgrade in sight. Most 2nd year LCC FO pay is equal to or more than a regional CA makes. Average upgrade time at most LCC (excluding SWA) is approximately 7 years. No brainer to make a move. Secondly, there are literally thousands of current regional Captains with thousands of hours of TPIC. The legacy carriers are not beating down their doors. I agree the 1000 TPIC is a resume builder, but I wouldn't pass up an opportunity at a LCC to wait for an upgrade. Obviously dependent upon your current seniority and outlook.
