And that's why frontier is hiring regional fo's, and not captains. Great lakes captains, yes. Skywest captains, no.

Until I see attrition jump significantly, or until I see them consistently hiring 11 out of 12 interviewees, I'm not thinking they're having trouble finding quality candidates.
They will only raise pay when they are absolutely forced to under section 6 negotiations, after dragging it out as long as functionally possible. Hopefully the economy is good in those days!
Oh, and hopefully we don't trade work-rules for shiny rates.

Unfortunately, airlines can get away with almost anything (low pay) when in growth mode and offering hopes of a quick upgrade.

I realize we have good work rules but how do they stack up against the majors? Some of them have good rules AND much better pay. What am I missing? Seems like we could get both (or at least improve on them).

The company won't raise pay rates out of the goodness of their hearts.

The training contract is a real thing and should come to be in the next few months, although it will have the opposite effect Frontier hopes for. Even if you sign it and quit during the term, you'll be leaving for a job that will pay off the contract in the first year.
In March we had 5 pilots quit. 4 were just off OE. A training contract for a job with industry lagging pay will either inspire a lot of dreamers, misfits and pilots just passing through or simply chase away pilots with other options a.k.a. adverse selection. I don't think there are enough dreamers to keep the first few years of the seniority list full. Indigo may get it when they watch low time 320 PICs walking out the door during our "growth spurt."

More pilots are not leaving to the majors because we are not getting called for an interview. I bet if they starting calling anyone with an app you would see a lot more attrition and not only in the FO side, some jr Captains have apps as well.
