I guess I should not have said that the 319s are going away. Obviously we still have 319neos on order. I should have said that we will be much more heavy on 320s than 19s. A change from the past in favor of higher seating capacity.
As you can see, the vast majority of the existing 319s are being returned. You can get a cheaper seat mile cost on a higher seat airplane. The 319s will still be used on certain markets, but the airline as a whole is moving to bigger birds. We get paid the same, so it really has little impact on us as pilots other than the company hopefully being successful

Is the application window open indefinitely or is it a temporary window that will close soon? Im very close to the mins and trying to decide if I should apply now or wait until I hit 2500. Hoping to be at the job fair in July, and don't want the window to close and not be able to get my app in by then. Thanks.

CASM ~$0.05 ...impressive. Should fuel massive growth, a quick upgrade, and long(er) term job security. Good for everyone, and I'm personally excited about it all. But don't forget the other ChASM... As in the enormous rift, deep and wide, separating what you are worth from what you are actually paid. It's ok though because our time is coming to get it strait. I hope our negotiators know what they're doing, and if not, they are humble and smart enough to seek help from those who do know what they're doing. And all you yearlings like me better be ready to vote NO on any TA that doesn't move heaven and earth!
Question to the old union heads: Are we ready to do this in Spring 2016? I mean is there enough time to properly prepare? CA I flew with told me there was a to-do list given us by ALPA on preparing, and it starts over a year out.

I think all the tickets to see Frontier may be sold out. I believe you can be put on a wait list to get one though.

Management is so wrapped up in the IPO, that they're going to pay when it comes contract time... We'll be 2 contracts behind our closest peer in spirit... Americans new rates are off the charts and deltas new ta will have higher airbus rates than Americans new ones... I understand we'll never make legacy money, but our pay rates should wind up turning out pretty good... They also need to tighten up the contract language a lot and throw in some delicious new nuggets... Management being unwilling to talk or negotiate now only stands to benefit us handsomely down the road

For those looking at AA and Delta rates I fear you are setting yourself up for a big disappointment. Legacy carriers have never been our peer group. Thankfully (unfortunately?) we trail everyone else with regard to hourly rates so there needs to be some parity.

FAPA has always managed to get top third party consultants. Randy Babbit, Eclat, Olyver Wyman, etc. This trip through negotiations will be no different. The pilots play a role but the process is guided by professionals that do one thing, negotiate.

I fully understand that ULCC pilots aren't going to make the same money as legacy pilots. It's simple math. The legacies bring in way more money than we do. Heck, just the first class cabin alone probably brings in as much revenue as our entire cabin does... Ok, probably not, but I bet it does on occasion.
How about a prediction that we make up half the difference from our current rates to the leading legacy rates? So maybe we get top captain rates of around 205/ hour and 135 for top of scale FOs? Do those numbers sound reasonable??
