I have been to a job fair. Went to aero crew in Chicago in May. They had just stopped hiring for the summer time so I feel like they didn't really look at resumes much. I'd really love to not have to spend the money on a second visit.

Thanks and I look forward to the ups & downs of the airline world, I think!
Nothing. Enjoy time with friends and family! You will be very busy soon, and there is nothing you need to prepare for ahead of time. Our training at F9 is excellent IMO. Just study what they tell you to and show up to your FTDs (flight training device) and sim sessions prepared I.E. Know your flows, call outs, profiles, and you'll be fine. You get 5 FTD sessions before 8 or 9 sim sessions so you will be more than ready! Bottom line, just relax, and congrats!

Ditto, my experience with training was very positive! Enjoy your time off until you start class. Quizlet is pretty useful also once you start, previous classes have made study sets for memory items, limitations, etc. Just make sure their up to date

How does one respond to this?
All I can tell you if you do not want to spend the time and money then good luck. Just sit back and wait to see if F9 ever calls you.

Like Bolo said, I don't know what to say. I used hotel and airline points to get myself to my job fair. Cost me nothing.

Out of the 20 guys on my interview day, I was the only 91/135 guy there. Out of the 9 hired, I felt very lucky to be one of them.

My point is that 5% had 91/135 backgrounds. It's not like the airlines are beating down our doors. If you want to work here, you have to show them you are motivated and willing to put in the effort. They'll give you a chance, if you do your part as well.

Also, since you were asking about times, mine are:

All 91/135 background
6,000 TT
3,500 TPIC
2,000 Jet PIC
4 type ratings
4 year degree
No checkride failures ever
3 internal LORs (1 silver bullet)
A few speeding tickets
1 job fair
Interview prep

The question you need to ask yourself is pretty easy... What do I want to do with my money? Spend it, save it, or invest it in my career? Only you can answer that question.

With literally everyone hiring why would one spend time and money to go to a job fair for a less than 50% chance at getting hired?
Trying not to bash on those who have/will but why are job fairs needed?

Our union dropped this gem into the press today. I know everyone would like to see an expedited timeline for pay raises, maybe there's a chance - meantime keep your job applications fresh.

That piece won't do a thing. Nobody in the public cares.
The pay will change. It's going to take a minimum of 2 years and a strike or up to the final hour before a strike.

I totally agree. Is it going out to any newspapers? Nobody is even going to read it on the ALPA webpage. It SHOULD be in the Denver Post. At least then it has a chance of ****ing off Fat Bastard.
