Yes, I think a lot of guys who live in the midwest will be jumping at the chance to bid ORD as a base because they only wanted CLT because they could commute there, one leg. An ORD base would help spread things out quite a bit.

As has been pointed out, that is not true.

From the ALPA Merger and Fragmentation policy:
e. The merger representatives shall carefully weigh all the equities inherent in their merger situation. In joint session, the merger representatives should attempt to match equities to various methods of integration until a fair and equitable integrated seniority list is reached. Factors to be considered in constructing a fair and equitable integrated seniority list, in no particular order and with no particular weight, shall include but not be limited to the following:
(1) Career expectations.
(2) Longevity.
(3) Status and category.
The entire document is at the following link. the part I quoted starts on line 570.

I don't believe it should affect your reserve time if everyone are delayed in training equally

Well now we are getting 3 airplanes a month compared to 2 so that will create additional lines. My buddy waited 5 weeks between sims and IOE and held a round 1 line before he finished IOE. Soooo take that for what it's worth.

Absolutely not! Upgrade for anyone who already meets the 1000 SIC requirement is currently at 8-10 months and dropping. PSA will be continually hiring 60-70 pilots per month till at least December 2016. The last 2-3 aircraft of the 47 CRJ-700's will be delivered in December 2016. Right now we have options for 40 CRJ-900's.

Unless they announce a merger between both companies, then will be a real game changer. Specially because between Alpa companies mergers are by date of hire.
All mergers between two or more ALPA carriers will be governed by the ALPA Merger and Fragmentation Policy. This policy can be found under Section 45 of the ALPA Manual on the ALPA.org website. Each airline would create their own Merger Committee and the committees actions would be bound by this policy.

The number of new aircraft arriving on the property each month and the number of pilots leaving the company each month are certainly variables that need to be included in your calculation. So yes these variables do affect reserve time regardless of where you are at in training.

Why is anyone talking about merging PSA and Envoy? American needs them separate, a merged carrier would be more powerful than American would want to deal with.

Here's a contract/pay question. If someone is awarded a line before completing IOE, and said line is worth more than the 75 hour training pay, are you paid the higher credit line while waiting for IOE?
