Choose an airline based on what is important for you. If base is important, along with a good quality of life, then choose based on that.

Just be sure to make an educated decision based on real information, not just what the recruiters tell you.
You have to take into consideration the letter T pilots. Even thou AA wasn't hiring they sent avg of 10-13 guys for those months. Same way to PSA and PDT, none of the WO should have flow in the past months. These guys should be grateful they got to go when they shouldn't.

Once they start hiring it will go up to 50% for the month or 30 whichever is lower. If they hire 70, they should flow 35, but they can metered down to 30. At the end of the year the envoy flow has to be 50% of all the AA hiring for that year.

That will continue until the 824 are done. Then is 25 or 50% (whichever is Lower) once the 40th 175 arrives which will be by March. It's about the same time the 824 is done.

So saying is envoy flow has "fallen apart", is not correct. I would say that 6yrs to flow is kind of accurate, considering 3/4 of the list should be gone late 2019. Then the flow rate will be comparable wth PSA and PDT

Hopefully I can get TYS. But what will be better is if PSA had a Nashville base. That would be awesome.
I was told by several close friends who have been in the airlines a long time, pick a place based on 3 things; commute, reserve and upgrade. Obviously, your not going to have 1 thats best at all three, but two out of three aint bad. I drive to work, I should be off reserve here in about a month, and right now, it will probably be a 4 year upgrade for me. Two out of three aint bad, but honestly, a 4 year upgrade is still rather low, historically. We all know and agree that things change on a daily basis, and 6 months is an eternity in the regional airline business, so this is all subject to change.

Yea, you and me both wish Nashville will be a base. I dont think it will ever happen as a crew base, but they are still looking to do maintenance there, so that might happen. That would increase the number of overnights there, which is a small victory id say.

CVG should be closing soon. BNA would be a much better base than CVG.

They miscalculated by opening CVG instead of another commutable hub base. I wouldn't be surprised if they closed it in hopes of opening another base to attract new hires. They will do anything before trying to raise pay.

Hell of a miscalculation. It was 100% so they could keep the comair folks happy. I think it also kept them from having to pay per diem to the sim instructors, since they were nearly all living there. I also noticed that the training award for August said ALL SIMS IN CHARLOTTE FOR AUGUST...so maybe CVG will go away...dunno how much of a difference it will make to close it and open ORD (assuming thats the agenda) still can't staff the flying...

not another base opening at PSA. PSA rumors opening 2-3 different bases a year. What are you smoking.

PSA just removed one of the CRJ200 sims out of CVG, and a new 700/900 sim was installed in CLT. Most of the sim instructors in CVG are having to commute to CLT to work. CVG's training/sim base will be closing, as will the pilot base. The only reason for the pilot base was to allow the sim instructors to be "based" there. So, once the last sim is shut down (and PSA gets rid on the CRJ200's), there is no reason for a CVG base. Even if we continue to fly a few 200's, one of the 700/900 sims in CLT is convertible to be a 200 sim.

CVG hasn't grown they way that AAG wanted it to, and will be pulling the sims out of FlightSafety CVG and closing the pilot base. (At least that is the word from all of the sim instructors).

The pilots that are actually based there and fly airplanes will be offered DAY, which is pretty close. That will leave PSA to open another commutable base to help with hiring.

That is the idea, anyways.

I have a friend in management at one of the WOs... Word is that there will be a lot of domicile change ups come 2017. They mentioned a while back that PSA would likely lose a base and open ORD and that Envoy would lose ORD and gain another... And Piedmont will experience the most base change ups. This was before our inability to staff the remaining 700s became so apparent though. Now, who knows what will happen in the long run but maybe they were right about us losing a base after all.
