Default DCA Jr base???

With the announcement of PSA opening a DCA base in March of 2017, will that base become the Jr. base for PSA?

Thinking high cost of living won't make it too attractive for most new guys.

I feel it should fall just after CLT because of commutability, etc. DAY will probably always be the Jr base based on my observations so far.

So how flexible are they? I live 2.2 from DAY and that's the base I wanted. However I only live 0.7 from an airport that has AA (mostly PSA metal) service to CLT, DCA, PHL and ORD.

They told me they attempt to put pairings on the night before at out stations like DAY for SCR but what would be the possibility of them agreeing to me doing it from home and then repositioning from the closer airport to CLT, DCA, etc since I'm assuming DAY is just like TYS with first leg repos to CLT.

This isn't my first airline so I'm gussing no but worth a shot based on what you guys said was allowed in TYS.

Thanks

How flexible is scheduling? They are flexible when it benefits them or doesn't reduce their flexibility. I've had them allow me to sit reserve out of base in another base; I've had them TDY me from one base to another to sit reserve; I've never heard of them allowing a crew member sit reserve at a non-base location. Always worth asking, but I wouldn't expect for it to happen much... if ever.

I'm sure that's the answer you were expecting.

SycoCell, I live in far Western NC (Murphy). Two hours south of TYS, 2 hours west of AVL, 1.5 hours east of CHA, and about 2 north of ATL. I am assuming a base assignment other than TYS I could commute from CHA. Thanks for the info.

DCA will be something very interesting to look at. 100% agree.

I am also looking forward to see reserve times drop as we are upgrading 24 a month (or more), especially for FOs.

If I'm thinking right this is pre DCA bids. e.g. Everyone had to bid a line/RSV at the current four bases? Or does this already factor in the DCA moves?

Everyone currently on property holds a bid in our existing 4 bases, but we already know who will be bidding for those DCA bids next month, with flying to start in March.

Default Dumb question...

Hey all,

What are the CBA definitions of R1, BU, LCR, and SCR? I'm guessing R1 is airport reserve, BU I'm not sure of, LCR is long call, SCR is short call.. How long is long call reserve and short call reserve? BU, R1?

My son in law to be lives in Wilmington, NC and is about 200 hours out from 1500 hours.

Thanks
