If this LOA allows the company to become more efficient and save money, then so be it. It helps us out too. I'd rather see minor course corrections along the way than a major one down the road. I'd rather make more money out of a solid contract with proper pay rates and other compensation, than having to work outside my line utilizing company inefficiencies to make more money. We should not have to rely on those inefficiences. They will slowly disappear. The LOA may not be perfect, but you get 5 hours pay per day, can utilize your EFB on your work days, and not have to eat up additional days off going to training twice for what should be one event. I may be crazy, but that is how I see it.

I just hope you're not 10 numbers away from upgrade when the music stops or worse commuting indefinitely because you can't hold the base you live in.

I wholeheartedly agree. I would like to work my shift, go home and get my pay. I have no desire to surf Flica all day and bid crappy lines in hope of a transition conflict just to make an ok pay check that is still way behind a UAL reserve pilot at my longevity step

It's not a question. It's a statement. There's nothing to fire off. The FAQ was good. They just didn't spell out the words staffing reduction.

Btw I agree with you guys on working a line and not having to "work the system" to make money. This is about staffing nothing else. That affects your relative seniority. It's not about money in this case.

Sounds like you'd fit in at AA. I'd rather not give the company 'efficiencies'. You're entitled to your opinion, but it sounds like you're ready to march down the road to PBS et al. Not having to work hard is why I like it at Spirit. If we turn this place into any other airline, I may as well go to Delta. Like it or not, we're unlikely to match them in total compensation next time around.

I am far from that road. I just try to see the bigger picture, and pick my battles.

Not even counting conflicts for travel, at a minimum every pilot on 12-13 days off must have training put on their working days so they don't go below min days off. This requires the company to staff a certain number of extra pilots to cover those in training. Those extra pilots boost your relative seniority which controls when you can hold a domicile or upgrade. The company will no longer be required to staff those extra pilots if everyone including those with 12-13 day off lines now trains on days off.

And how is this ta that you and others want to vote yes for, that gives great efficiencies to the company for very little in return, going to help you acquire the desires stated above?
