1. Currently 9 days. Tuesday-Following Wednesday. Can positive space home on the weekend.
2. Most recent class had someone as soon as 7 days and as long as 8 weeks. 717 was the most backed up but it sounds like it changes a lot.
3. Half the class found out sim dates day 2, the other half day 3.
Also to add, some 737 and 7ER folks are doing a week of sim in MIA

Not exactly sure if this is the best place for this question but I want to ask to get ideas from current Delta Pilots or anyone who was just hired.
I am an FO at an American WO and have been here for a little under a year. I am 21 with a R-ATP until I知 23. Not because of hours/flight time, but just because of age. I have roughly a year and some change before I値l be 23, and I know that most legacies want 23 and Unrestricted ATP. I have a 4 year degree and no checkride/company failures.
My question is when is a good time to start putting my application out at Delta? I知 trying to be on top of the game if I were to get a call as an FO, and get an idea so I really appreciate it.

They値l never call you if you don稚 apply. Don稚 self-select yourself out of the process. Put your stuff in ASAP and keep it updated. Your app can be scored once per year. If you know a Delta pilot who can put in a rec for you I壇 get your app squared away and have the rec sent in while you池e still over a year away from turning 23. Worst case they値l pass you over but you値l have your stuff in and 12 months later when you hit 23 have the rec updated again for a rescore and hopefully you値l get the call then if you haven稚 already.

If you’re at a wholly owned regional, I expect you will have a path to the major that owns your company within the next 3 years. That said, someone will get Delta jobs off the street. You might as well hedge your bets. It’s never too early but if the music stops and the chairs are full it could be too late.

Today!

I believe we hired someone 21 yr old recently. Hiring 200 pilots a month it痴 a lot and they will go through the apps quickly. Also, get your app verified before you publish it.

I put my app out the week after I passed OE as an FO in the regionals. I was 22 ans got hired on at 25, albeit I had a CJO for a LCC in hand to use as leverage. There's 0 reasons to not having your app in as early as possible. Get your apps in now. Update your times. Especially with the hiring that will be coming in the next handful of years. Everyday you wait is a day wasted imo.

Min age for ATP is 23

Restricted ATP min age is 21 but I would be surprised if DL is hiring R-ATP right now.

ATP is the minimum and I知 not aware of anyone getting hired under 23yo (youngest pilot on the list now is 24 and was hired last month)

R-ATP also cannot fly as part of an augmented crew, so that would create an issue for DAL with the ER going to new hires
