They cover longest trips first. So you could get assigned a 6 day before they award you a YS for a 5 day

they used to do that. But now they’re in a perpetual situation of covering the closest reporting trips first which means it’s like a box of chocolates.

this now depends on whether you have preassigned rest on that last day. If you have preassigned rest it automatically drops you a day until they decide it doesn’t, so your yellow slip subtracting a day can actually subtract two and they claim it’s legit.

Add to survey: "Post release schedule check requires the pilot to acknowledge same/next/second day assignments ONLY (including Rest on only those days.)"

This would go a long way towards solving the pre-posted rest problem. This and just making pre-posted rest only being same/next/second day assignable overall, just like EVERY other type of RES assignment.

This is the loophole the company found (the ability to make RES assignments beyond 2 days out)

That seems to be what happened.

unfortunately, reserve these days seems be much like Whose line is it anyway...the rules are made up, days of availability are a suggestion and raw scores don't really matter.

Yep. Today get back from a 4 day. Post trip sked check, assigned trip reporting 18:03 after release. Another 4 day. (Had 30h layover last trip)

I'm the most senior guy in the 4 day bucket. But preposted rest and preposted SC 2 days out on all the other 4/5 day guys. boom.

Dude called out sick at 18:40 to report. Seriously.

That's actually surprising they were able to run coverage that quickly...or did it create a 23m7?

it should have created 23m7, no way it ran that quick. I’m sure CX probably submitted that. I do every time I get a reserve call out, especially ones I never saw in OT.
