I don't know exact numbers but the washout rate is very low. I have been through I don't even know how many long term trainings with new hires here and can only remember a few that didn't make it over many years. New hires bust Type rides or Orals here and there, but to completely wash out is not very common. Now with AQP training on the 175, it has gotten quite a bit easier than the old way as well where you had to basically know everything for an oral, because they could literally ask you anything, and the old TYPE ride has virtually no room for errors, Basically 2 hours of being nearly perfect through everything thrown at you. Things have changed for the better with the E175 AQP training though.

It's always obvious too the first week who is going to struggle or bust something. They were either odd ducks who you could tell from day 1 that they would have trouble, loners who didn't study with the rest of us, or stubborn people that just wouldn't listen to the advice of people who have been doing this for a long time and thought they knew best. They spent their time focusing on the wrong things and refused to take any advice.

If you are dedicated to making it, work well with others and listen to the advice of the senior classmates and instructors who have played the training game before many times. You will make it through just fine. The majority of people here always are willing to help each other out.

Double until after indoc, then single.

I don't recommend travel on weekends. Getting stuck and not making it back to training is a bad thing. So is going somewhere full of distractions and nit studying.

-Training Pay is 64hrs of pay rate + 16hrs per diem a day. = around $2500 a month after taxes and deductions
- Single occupancy
-you can commute home once your Cass is approved for other airlines. If is AA/Eagle I believe you're set the first week, not sure.

After the first week they will send you home for 2 weeks. That's time to work on the CBT. So I would stay the first weekend since next Monday or Tuesday you are going home.

They will positive space you back and forward for those events. If is on the weekends you're on your own.

They will also positive space you wherever the company needs you in training.

I wouldn't concern yourself with the washout rate. I honestly have no idea what it is, but have only heard of a handful who have washed out in the past year. If you come with a good attitude you will do just fine. From speaking with one of the recruiters, the people they have had issues come here thinking they are owed something from envoy. This is directly attributed to the job market being very pilot friendly right now. What I mean is that because every regional is hurting for pilots, there are some who don't take the training seriously, because they know if anything happens they can be in class the following week at Mesa, Republic, Skywest, etc;

Just come here prepared to put your nose to the book and you will do just fine, all the while learning a lot from some great instructors. Ask questions from current pilots who are down there in training and they will be more then willing to help you. Our ancient computer system (SABRE) can be a little tough to navigate at first, but it's easy to figure once you get the hang of it. Non-rev travel on our internal website is incredibly easy to figure out. Any more questions, feel free to ask. If you sift through the snide comments by pilots who don't work here, you will be able to find a lot of useful info on envoy on here. Things are finally starting to look up and if you live in ORD or DFW, or are at least a one-leg commute to either, I would highly recommend coming here. Good luck.

Hello I'm looking for some advice. I moved to the DFW area for a job and I'm looking to join the Envoy family this summer. My question is should I give up my apartment and use the hotel during training? Giving up my apartment would allow me to save some money but I was thinking about keeping it if I end up with double occupancy during training. I like my own personal space but I did here that it goes to single man occupancy after the first week. I'm starting to make my plans now because I don't want to have to rush to pack up my belongings. I'm hoping to get based in DFW if I'm lucky enough. I would love to be based in DFW and its only a one leg flight home whenever I have the time to visit. Thanks so much for your time.

While I definetly recommend staying in the hotel during the week, I would never tell someone to give up their apt. Training isn't really that long anyway, not as long as it used to be. Double occupancy the first week will go by in a breeze (although maybe during this time staying in your apt would be ok). As long as you don't get the crj, getting Dfw based shouldn't be a problem. Good luck, you're getting in at a time that's better then pretty much everyone on property!

Giving up your apartment for that short a time period isn't a very good idea.

Training is pretty quick 5-6 weeks. What happens if they have a delay between ground and sim and send you home for a while? They also send you home for a week or so to do CBT after indoc. They send people home in the middle of sim for a couple days also. I guess you could stay at the Holiday Inn Bedford during CBTs with nobody else in your class there but that would really suck. It's good to be able to get the hell out of there every once and a while. I would go nuts living in that hotel the whole time. People do it though.

Where will you put all your stuff if you move out, storage? Then having to find a new apartment, new lease, new deposit as soon as you finish training and will be busy with your new schedule. Really not worth the hassle I wouldn't think.

Anyone who's been hired recently care to share what the interview is like? Standard panel, written test, sim eval format? Also live in DFW and may be looking to jump from XE in the near future.
